  1. Anyone seen the trailers for this? Looks stupid as fuck IMO and I will tell you why. That doll looks evil as fuck.

The girl in the movie sounds super happy to have the doll. But of I got that evil looking doll it would be burned and the ashes thrown in the trash in the first 5 minutes.

  2. I think they only really made that movie because The Conjuring was so successful

So now they want to make more money off Anabelle.

I really liked the Conjuring and I thought it was one of the best modern horror movies I've seen

Life's too short so love the one you got

  3. I liked the Conjuring too, and I'm not really a fan of too many recent horror movies. Dunno how I feel bout Annabelle yet.

  4. Well yeah obviously it looks pretty dumb..I don't think we'll be missing anything

  5. I saw it at the gfs request.... Loved the conjuring, this not so much.... Less scary parts and I thought they missed a chance for a much better ending

    Spoiler ahead!!!!!!!!!!

When she is smashing the doll on the baby crib and throws it and then she thinks it's the baby but it's just a different doll.... Should of been the kid and ended there.... Very dark and disturbing but that's kinda the point of these sorta movies isn't it? Can't stand happy endings in horrors

I saw this film with a group of friends the other day. It seemed to be a victim of the rushed-ending pitfall. The first half of the film did a very nice job of building suspense and creating a tense and eerie atmosphere -- a very effective strategy that is rarely applied appropriately. However, the whole movie kind of seemed like it ended in 15 minutes. The climax of the film was thrilling and entertaining to say the least, but as they were trying to make a decision about what was going to happen Ruby's mother just kind of jumped out of the window without much explanation or conviction and that cued the denouement of the film. The resolution was also pretty hokey as the couple literally walked away smiling into a golden light aaaaaand cue the cheesy musical score.

I will say, however, there were some very well-executed shots and recurring themes in the movie that suggested the writer/director knew a thing or two about good composition of film. Definite brownie points, but that ending... ugh.
