Medical Marijuana Support Falls In Florida, Latest Poll.

Discussion in 'Marijuana News' started by Green Wizard, Sep 25, 2014.

  1. The SurveyUSA/WFLA tracking poll finds that 53 percent of likely voters support Amendment 2, 32 percent oppose and another 15 percent are undecided. To pass, the initiative needs to top the 60 percent mark.
In Southwest Florida, those numbers drop to 48 percent in favor, 38 percent against, with the remainder unsure.
It's a far cry from the halcyon days of summer when a Quinnipiac poll found nearly 90 percent support for the measure.
The SurveyUSA poll marks the worst showing to date for the initiative and only more data will tell us whether this is an outlier or a trend. Other polls in September show the measure hovering just above or below the critical 60 percent mark.
Despite this bad bit of polling news for backers, The News-Press forecast model puts the probability of Amendment 2 passing at 63.9 percent. Our model, based on all available data, predicts a 61.2 percent to 38.8 percent outcome.
The SurveyUSA poll of 588 likely voters was taken Sept. 19-22 and has a margin of error of +/-4.1 percent.

  2. I'm hoping that those lower numbers will help get out the YES vote. I was concerned during the summer when all the big pro-mmj polls came out. Made me afraid of people becoming complacent thinking it was a done deal and not showing up to vote....

    As I said before......fingers crossed....

  3.
Local news in my town has been running stories on it every night. Usually casting mmj in a bad light. Just tonight they ran a story on how teens are now doing the "new" drug called dabbing, and all the negative shit that surrounds BHO. Makes me sick. It's like they're using scare tactics aimed at the older generation. If we all don't spread the word and get people to the polls and vote yes, we could easily lose mmj in Florida I'm afraid.

  4. In honor if those scare tactic I will take a morning dab.

  5. I brought up amendment 2 to a co worker who recently lost her husband to Alzheimer's. She was against it so I told her about how it has been shown to slow down and even stop Alzheimer's. She said she is voting no because of all the people who will be driving stoned.... Only thing I could do is tell her we needed to agree to disagree.

  6. Not really any cure for being blinded by ignorance....

  7. And speaking about "dabs" being in the news, I saw a spot on the local news about it and I don't think the anchors knew enough about it to really put a spin on it....never got any traction, and I never saw any more about it....

  8. thank god they didn't spin it with all the assholes blowing up their kitchens.

  9. I think most of the anti cannabis crowd in Florida think it's mostly used in joints or a corn cob pipe.....

Are the thread NARCS stalking you? here is a good link to know the current status of the bill and to ask locally what is going on. I predict 67% support. The anti-group, mostly republicans and police, are just spending theit 5millions collected. The pro-group has spent that much. George Soros better start tossing in some more money if the YESers want to bet down the NOers. http://floridamarijuanainfo.org/

  13. my hope is that enough people will vote "yes"...

there seems to be a lot of "undecided" people, or those who simply don't care (or remember to vote).

if those that stand by the cause to have mmj get out and vote and continue to encourage their friends to vote "yes" and register, then there is still is a pretty good chance.

imo, majority will vote "yes"... but is it going to be enough to get the target %?

  14. Yea they really aré... All B.S aside they shut down two threads yes there where bad words but every thread has that... My guess is there's underlining reasons and the topics "no bueno"
Cool link to stay up to date thanks... And 67%... I'd like to think it's less or I hope I guess lol

  15. The NO to 2 are on the last minute drive. If you look at expenditures from each side the YESers have spent almost 5 million and have about 50K left. The No crowd has spent nothing and had about 3 million available. I think they are going to do a last minute drive to scare people. MMJ a rape drug? Really? this is as sad as smokers using the sick for their selfish agenda.

  16. smoking is actually vaporizing except in another form. the heat of the cherry vaporizes the herb next to the cherry at the side where the air is drawn through and enters the lungs. it is 100 percent medicinal no matter how you choose to look at the process, because you absorb cannabinoids which are the medicine. smokers also eat the herb which is another aspect altogether and is also 100 percent medicinal as you also consume the cannabinoids. smokers also ingest the essential oil which is--- well you get the point

    Dear Friend,
If we don't pass Amendment 2, patients will continue be forced into a choice between deadly, addictive and caustic prescriptions or the threat of arrest and court.

No one with a debilitating condition should have to make that choice when something as benign as medical marijuana can be made available to them, with their doctor's supervision.

In 4 days, the forces opposed to Amendment 2 - aligned with big pharma, tobacco, and casinos - will be launching a multi-million dollar campaign to mislead the public.

Barbara Stiefel and I will personally match every contribution that comes in between now and October 1st.  That's a 2 for 1 match.

Please help us defend medical marijuana and Amendment 2. Contribute here before Oct 1.

I have put millions in to make this happen - but we need millions more.

For every $100 that is donated before raise - Barbara and I will each donate $100.

Please contribute today. Click here to do it.
    Let's win this thing.

  18. You really can't figure it out. Keep up the good work. You will be gone soon enough.
You abound start another FL thread to really tell us how you feel.

  19. I've had my doctors ask me numerous times "Do you use any illegal drugs, or use marijuana?" To which my standard answer is, NO, of course not."

I feel like a lot of people that are "undecided" are playing that same card...prolly a lot of the "NO" people as well....

    Fingers crossed.....

  20. Not sure what that has to do with anything. Cool story though. Most peopl using are NOT using it for medical reasons. They are using it as an intoxicant. To which I stand by this, what other opiod or other narcotic as the main or active ingredient is also approved for recreational use?
