Flowering With Red Led Only? Or With Combination? Putting Lights On The Sides Of Plants?

  1. Hello fellow growers and smokers,

I'm curious if anyone has tried flowering with only a Red LED light. It supposed to make the plant think it is autumn i guess and maximize the yield. Does anyone have any previous experience with flowering with an all red LED?

    Question 2:

If you were to add a LED Grow panel to the side of the wall where typically your reflective material is, would this  promote more growth and better results? What about an entire room tiled with Led panels(al sides and the top), would the growth be twice as good perhaps?

  2. I'm guessing pure red would lead into thick but not as strong buds.

  3. I've got a couple grow lights.  Both have mostly red LEDs but one is about 15% blue and 8% white while the other only has about 10% blue and 4% white.  When running under the light with more red the plants are taller, and have larger buds but the leaves are NOT frosty nor are they sticky.  Also leaves start turning brown 3 weeks before harvest.  When I use the LED with more blue and white the plant is green and healthy looking until about 5 days before harvest.  They are shorter but significantly more bushy, have more branches, and there are more buds. The leaves and buds are much more frosty and sticky too, but the buds stay small.  I have never used a completely red LED panel but based on the experience I do have, I think that going all red will lead to very little potency.  I suspect the best thing with the lights I have would be to use the light with more blue for early flowering to produce more buds then mid flower use the light that has more red to make the buds bigger and finally switch back to more blue for the final THC boost.  I don't know if that is going to be best or not because I haven't gotten to try it yet.  Even though that doesn't directly answer your question I hope it helps add perspective.
