    high everyone,

cannabis users in the uk are in desperate need of cannabis law reform - and we need YOUR help in order to achieve it. to quote wikipedia:

\nwe already know why legalizing cannabis makes sense, but for those of us in the uk, having to deal with criminal gangs and paramilitary organisations to gain access to our much needed medicine is simply part of our every day life. we are constantly having to risk our jobs and homes, not to mention facing long term prison sentences and substantial fines, purely because our politicians and law makers are severely misinformed when it comes to this natural miracle
\nobviously, we aren't going to achieve effective legislation over night, but we need to start somewhere. most of the laws passed today will be passed because they - directly or indirectly - pay money into the pockets of our politicians and lawmakers. as an example, the privatisation of the nhs is motivated purely by greed, without concern for those of us who need it, because the vast majority of our politicians have stakes in private health care services such as bupa
\ngiven that our politicians are driven by monetary gain, we have decided to meet them half way. we are asking for a licensing system to be considered, where a grower will pay a fee to obtain a licence, allowing them to grow their own cannabis at home, for their own use, no exceptions. as with all licences, any rules broken will result in the licence being revoked
\nallowing cannabis users to grow their own plants at home will effectively devalue the trade for criminal gangs. almost all victims involved in the cannabis trade are those who are forced to work, disputes over money owed, "turf" wars etc. the victims are never directly affected by the use of cannabis.
\ncategory 4, lesser role of the cps guidelines (growing for personal use) currently ranges from a short community order, to a fine. if this one category were to be legalised, it would certainly cut the number of more serious offences in relation, if not eradicate them all together
