Hey whats up guys. Just joined the site under this name. I was here for several years up until about a year ago, my name was R107SL, when i was banned for talking about unmentionables (personally think its a dumb rule not to talk about other drugs cuz it would only be for harm reduction reasons). Anyways I just picked up this 2008 Land Rover LR2 about a week ago. Its a black on black with full leather and the new terrain response system that is equipped in all relatively new Land Rovers. I have never had a Land Rover before but have gone offroading in vegas a couple of times with my cousin (who is a part of a Land Rover club). A few days ago I took Lana (my Land Rover ha) out to a friends ranch. My friend had his Mercedes GL450 and we drove around the ranch. The Benz struggled and had to turn around at this large mound of sand. I decided to turn the console dial to sand mode and go right over the mound haha. It was a great feeling and impressive for a baby Land Rover. This is a pic of the car after our ranch adventure: Finally I love the ride, the V6 in it is plenty powerful. And it has a great sound system and interior fit and finish. One of my favorite features (which was originally optional) is the Bi-Xenon active headlights, that turn when you turn the steering wheel.
definitely will man. Ive heard land rovers can be unreliable, but the LR2 is supposedly pretty reliable. definitely not. When i was checking out cars, the dealer had a couple Range Rovers HSE, but they had twice the miles and were more than twice as much (out of my price range). The LR2 is perfect at the moment.
Fuck its a nice truck but i have owned one of these and they are about as reliable as a drunk surgeon. HORRIBLE car and don't plan on having it for no more then a couple years unless you want to spent endless money on maintaining and repairing it. I liked driving mine until the fucking head gasket blew half way down the road. Maybe I just got a lemon or maybe it was the year or something but ive heard the same from other land rover owners. A 2002 land rover disco 2 and sold it for scrap metal for $300 lol.
Would be nice for sure to be allowed to import defenders in the US. And i always though the disco 2s were very reliable, but i could be wrong. Thats sucks tho either way. So far im loving it tho
