Vintage Black Ceramic Pipe

Discussion in 'Smoking Pipes, Glass Spoon Pipes' started by Grendelking, Sep 20, 2014.

  1. I did the search feature of these forums but, I couldn't find the answers I was looking for. I've been eyeing a vintage (or so they claim) ceramic pipe on an auction site but I have a few concerns because I'm not very knowledgeable about the subject of ceramics. Judging from the pictures below, does this pipe look safe to smoke from ? I'm concerned about the condition known as...black lung. I googled the subject but it just got me more confused. Glazed, unglazed, fired, painted...etc. I also asked the seller and she had no clue  :confused_2:

Ceramics were used all through the 70's and 80's for bongs and pipes. As long as it's fired, it should be good. No black lung don't worry.
