Well i kind of stumbled upon two of the flurescent grow lights that are sold at walmart. They are 75w, have just over 1000 lumens and have a color temp of 4200 k. I was planning on using them but i was wondering if they would work pretty good and if anybody has ever used them?
Are they single tube lights? They cost like 10 bucks? If so I have 3 of them I use. I set them on top of my seed and clone tray. They work good for that purpose. Not sure if they would be great for anything else. If you want to veg or flower you really need some Hid lighting.
Yeah those are the ones... i might buy like 2 more so i could veg, im not sure if 2 would work or not. I just want some smaller plants because i know i probably cant grow anything big with them
150w hps puts out 16,000 lumens at 150 watts of electricity used. 2x75 watt cfls put out 2,000 lumens at 150 watts of electricity used. Thats 1/8th the growing power of the same wattage hps. You could flush money down the toilet easier ways. -poke
They won't veg much, they will keep a couple plants alive, but they won't grow much and will probably cause them to stretch.
