this plant has been different from others I have grown, the trics started to look amber around the middle of week 7 with all white pistils, then they went back to cloudy/clear trics, the pistils started turning red and the trics started amber again. glad I waited because they swelled up alot from week8 to week9. does this happen alot or at all to anyone?
I always looked at the trichomes as indicator of being ripe, but if the trics change back and forth from cloudy to amber back to cloudy, then the trichome theory just hit the shitter. If I would have pulled the plant at the first sign of amber then I would have cheated myself.
More and more I'm reading that people don't trust the trichomes.. Interesting. Looks awesome.. Great job.. No yellow on the leaves at all? Have you started flushing?
yeah, I started flushing almost a week ago. I'm starting think maybe I cheated myself on prior grows by pulling using the trics, the only reason I questioned ripeness of trics was because I had almost all white pistils. it goes against everything I read.
I read to go by the pistils, when red/brown and receding back into the bud, regardless what the trics look like
Its really all strain dependant. What Northern Lights is this? I would definitely wait til the hairs mostly go orange. I'm sure their are strains that are exceptions to that rule.

thank you sir, that's why I started growing, the only good stuff in my area is in my garden, I didn'r even know the strain I was smoking and it was expensive as hell, so yes it is better than what could buy.
