Weed Firecracker/edible Questions

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Soulus_Ronin, Sep 19, 2014.

  1. I've tried so many different recipes and variations in edible experimentation to attain the famous high of firecrackers but to no avail. Here's a rough summary of my processes blended together tell me what needs to be taken out:

    1) Preheat Oven to 240F (don't know conversion for Celsius sorry), wrap Weed in tin foil and place in an oven for 30 min - 1 hr.
-Now my problem here is I've heard different things about the temperature, time, and whether or not I should even "decarb" the weed. Can someone's give me a solid answer on that please?

    2) While your weed is decarbing (if you chose to do so), Make a mix of Peanut Butter/Nutella and Vegetable Oil/E.V Olive Oil/Coconut Oil/Butter
-So can someone clarify which are the best combination. Personally for taste I enjoy Nutella with Coconut Oil, however like I said I've tried several recipes and I haven't had any good results. Also, when using coconut oil with cannabis ingredients do I just use the oil (liquid) or can I take the solid chunks? Does mixing different oils and butter do anything?

    3) Take Your Decarbed weed out of the oven and then preheat your oven at 300-350 degrees.

4a) Take your *Butter/Oil Mixture and spread it on **Graham/Ritz/Saltine Crackers (Note: *Should have about the viscosity of Jam I believe-spread 1 cm thick in cracker. **For better taste I like Graham Crackers. Then take your weed (Recipes usually call for .5 grams a cracker...or was it sandwhich? Can someone maybe clarify?) and sorinkle it lightly on crackers. (Now what confuses me comes next when people talk about surface area of weed making contact with the peanut butter or nutella)

4b) Take Decarbed weed and mix with peanut butter/oil mixture, then spread over crackers. (Optional: Take E.V Olive Oil/Coconut Oil (1/2 tsp) and drop on weed that has either been mixed or sprinkled (I heard it's better for extraction)
-When spreading in both scenarios is there anything I should avoid, like I've been using a knife mix. Is that a no-no/taboo? Also again, which is better sprinkling or mixing and on top of that can someone better explain the whole surface area contact thing?

    5) After spreading, sandwich crackers and wrap in tinfoil (Now here I believe you are supposed to wrap completely in order to avoid smelling up the place but is there a disadvantage to that? Do you lose transference? I don't know, I'm just taking wild guesses to figure out why these aren't working for me)

    6) Place in oven which has been set at 300-350 degrees and leave for 18-23 minutes.
-Now here, I'm confused as to what the optimal temperature is and what the optimal time is. I've heard the weed can burn at 350, so any suggestions on that?

    7) After time is up, take sandwhiched crackers out of the oven and let them cool down. Once they do Enjoy.

    TL;DR
    SUMMARIZED QUESTIONS
    - Should I decarb my weed for firecrackers? If so for how long and best temp? What color does Decarbed weed look like? Does it really increase potency? Should I completely cover when decarbing?
    - When making the mix what's the best thing to use? When looking for PB what I'm looking for to best aid extraction? (ie I have a MaraNatha All Natural Almond Butter with 25% Total Fat. The texture is a little lumpy when I spread but it has that layer of oil on top that I heard was good. Or should I use my Peter Pan Peanut Butter with 26% Total fat? On the label and we want the fat high right (no pun intended)? What's the best oil to use in combination? If coconut oil do I use liquid or chunks?
-Do I mix weed with peanut butter mixture then spread or do I spread first with the mixture then sprinkle weed? What is this talk of surface area contact?
-Do I completely wrap the crackers in foil once i sandwhich them? Does the way I foil them matter like shiny side or whatever? Do I put them on a dish like a cookie sheet in the oven? How long do I stick them in the oven and how hot should it be for maximum effect? What will they look and smell like if I did them properly.
-I'd consider myself a heavy smoker, I started around Late April or Early May (so about 6 months now.) at first it was only like a dub a month, but then in July I started buying bigger amount and for the last 3-4 weeks I've been smoking like 3 Times a day a joint-joint and a half or 3-5 bowls each session. So how much weed/ crackers should I have to get this long intense high people keep talking about? 1g? 2g?
-Also, I've heard so many debates about whether or not you should consume food prior to smoking or to eat on an empty stomach. I've heard the First Pass Metabolism effect dictates that you have to eat to start the metabolic cycle otherwise your liver will absorb the THC as fuel instead of converting or something like that. But then other people have said they have a quicker hitting and more intense high when they consume the edible on an empty stomach and then eat high fat foods shortly after. Someone please give me confirmation of which is the better option.
-Is using a tabletop convection also a plausible option for this process?

    FINAL MISCELLANEOUS QUESTION
-When making weed brownies is it the process making the brownies or making the cannabis oil that smells up the house?

Sorry for the long read guys, I've done a lot of research but there are so many different opinions and I need some solidarity cuz I've tried a lot of stuff and have yet to have that inexplicable experience. So any feedback is appreciated, even it's not all of it don't be deterred, all knowledge is valuable. Thanks

  2. I am a daily smoker, and I personally don't find firecrackers to be all the great. (sorry to rain on your parade!)

I tried it a few times, and every time it was just alright.  I personally prefer making brownies or cookies as they always seem to give me a greater effect and I have done it so much I can make them in my sleep.

  3. You cant even get high eating bud thats not decarbed whoever told you that is misinformed.. Put weed on firecracker, cook it and then its decarbed. essentially

  4. So when I do decarb them, do I have grind them and then cover them completely? And what's the best time and temp for them?

  5. I can't tell ya that, more research will give you that answer. i myself never made an edible.

  6. Don't bother with firecrackers man, the high ist worth the work! Instead, make cannabutter or oil and make brownies or cookies! That's the way to go

  7. Alright well then I have a question. When making weed brownies or cookies is it the process of making tehe brownie that stinks up the place or is it making the oil?

  8. You're retarded. This is not how you make firecrackers. I have made them multiple times and gotten blasted. I dont know where you fou.d this recipe but, no shit its not working lol.

You can get your point across without insulting people and ruining the vibe of the forum. Firstly, this isn't an actual recipe. That was my mistake, this was my first post so I didn't know about the tagging and topic setting or whatever (still don't.) Anyways, this is just a skeleton that broadly summarizes about what every firecracker recipe says to do or something similar, because usually the only discrepancies with recipes are the times, temperatures, and mixing processes. I was just posting it and asking questions for some clarification because thus far I personally haven't had any success. HOWEVER, THIRDLY, I did use this recipe or a variation of it (very similar since it's just a skeleton) and my friend got baked for a straight near 48 hours. So I've chalked my failure of feeling it to my tolerance because I've been smoking anywhere from like 1-3 joints a day for approximately the last month. LASTLY, if you think this "recipe" is stupid, instead of resorting to name-calling and not contributing anything to the community, share your recipe or how you do so I can try new stuff out.

    TL:DR
My recipe does work, my tolerance is just complete crap so I'm taking a T-break. Instead of being antagonistic and insulting others for no reason, why don't you contribute and share the recipe that got you blasted.

  10. The smell of firecrackers legit gives me PTSD. Disgusting.

  11. Firecrackers give you Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? Lol a bit extreme, but ok. Honestly, I had heard alot of things about the taste and the smell (of firecrackers) but it wasn't that bad for me. But then again, I honestly will pretty much eat anything simply because my sense of taste isn't that acute (another reason I enjoy smoking) If you want the best tasting stuff, I'd use nutella and coconut oil. Shit was fire af. Spread that on some graham crackers those are by far my favorite.

  12. My girl made peanut butter and Carmel Sundays a few months back using a similar idea. She mixed the peanut butter with 2 grams and put it in the fridge for a week in a Pyrex measuring cup. Removed from fridge let warm up and then baked it for 20 minutes. Not sure of temp. Then used that peanut butter to make the Sundays. Damn good and a long high. Better tasting than any firecracker. She had bananas in hers.

  13. Yeaah, I saw a post like that one the Ultimate Firecracker Recipe thread. They looked pretty nice, but you don't have to put it in the fridge, actually you shouldn't because the THC will extract better in heat which is why you have to bake firecrackers OR leave them out. I mean you can leave them in the fridge but I think it's just better, plus I can't put  any weed in my fridge lol. But great suggestion. :)

  14. I am pretty sure you always use creamy fatty PB. We use Jiffy.
