Need Urgent Help

  1. Okay so I first want to say I know I've made quite a few mistakes, but man this seems to be a lot of bad luck. This is my first grow, and my only plant at the moment. I'm growing indoors in fox farm soil, about 5 weeks into flowering I believe(although I haven't been keeping track as well as I should). So basically I know for a fact that I have some aphids, I'm quite confident in that. I also have a bit of mold, that I noticed just now and appears to only be on one leaf. I'm also thinking, but not 100% sure, that I have root rot due to the fact that my soil will still be a bit moist about a knuckle deep after a week of no water. I know this is a lot at once, and I've learned a lot. So basically what I'm getting at, is should I start trying to treat the root rot, aphids, trimming away any mold I see, etc. during the flowering process and risking ruining the taste of the buds with neem oil and other chemicals, should I maybe go to a 10/12 light cycle to finish flowering as fast as I can, or just harvest now and see if I can get anything smokeable /:? Here's some pictures of her right now:

  2. Definitely wouldn't harvest now mate....given those options I would probably grab some bug spray to try fighting off the aphids, some treatment against root rot, stick to the 12/12 cycle, and give her a damn good flush or two in the week before harvest.....

Oh, and pray.....I would do a lot of praying.

    Good luck man.

Only thing different is don't "use up to day of harvest" def still do a flush like breezy said.

  4. I'm a bit tight on money, and read that you can make a garlic spray to get rid of aphids. Do you think that would be okay during flowering? I really want my plant to be as healthy as possible, but if I don't need to go out and buy something like that I'd prefer not to. Especially since I realized my plant actually doesn't have mold, it was just some self rising flour I had in a bowl under my plant to prevent ants(they aren't really an issue just annoying in the grow area), and some accidentally got on a leaf when I took it out.

  5. Do you have drainholes in that container?  A week without watering and the soil is still wet is a good indicator of poor or non existent drainage.  I'm familiar with FFOF and it would have dried in the correct container by now.  That's your first task.

As far as the aphids go you can mix garlic, water and dish soap and spray them down with it, especially on the undersides of the leaves.  That's where they thrive.  I'd be very cautious spraying anything else on your plants once flowering has begun.  I'll look for the exact recipe for you.

Please for the love of god don't flush.  That's the kind of mentality that got you into this in the first place.

It has one decent sized drain hole in the bottom but only one, so maybe I should drill more in? I was also looking into using lemon instead of garlic, since if it got into the buds I'd much prefer the taste of lemon than garlic. Any opinions on that? And thanks man!

  7. Ants and aphids at connected. The reason you had ants is that you had aphids man. Ants love the honeysuckle they produce and start acting like bodyguards for aphids. You are right ants alone are not a problem to the plant, however they are likely a bad sign if they want to be in your grow room all the time. I had not heard if the flour trick but cinnamon can be put in a line to stop ants from crossing it. Pretty neat trick. Also instead of spraying leaves and all that ladybugs are always an option man. They are cheap online and love aphids a bug eating a bug ultimate nature.

  8. Maybe that could be why they've been here more than usual, but I've always had ants in this house, ever since I moved in. I'm not talking like trails of them or anything, just the occasional few. The aphid damage seems to be pretty minimal, I just want to stop it before it's too late. I've been liking the idea of ladybugs in terms of the effectiveness with little risk, but wouldn't they kind of be a problem since this is an indoor closet grow?

  9. I have never attempted this, from what I understand if you have mites and aphids they will stay with the Plants and devour the little bastards. I actually think it would be neat, however I do feel like it's going to end up with you chasing them around trying to get them back in a container to put them in fridge. I think it's worth a try if your living space is your own and you aren't worried about people seeing the stray lady bug that ran off flying around. I am a first time grower so all my knowledge has come from research and the grasscity community. Ladybugs still sound like a safer plan then spraying your plant with different solutions.

  10. HAHAHA! not if you like ladybugs.
Sry, I just find that funny.

  11. You are just saying don't flush right now right homer?, not suggesting he doesn't flush at least once prior to harvest?.

  12. You need more than one drain hole in your bucket man.
