2002 Impala (Aftermarket Radio) Help

  1. Hey GC,

I recently purchased a 2002 Chevy Impala. Well the speakers are complete shit, and this thing only has a cassette player. I've been thinking long and hard and I want to replace the radio for possibly a touch screen with aux, SD card input, ect.

Problem is, I can't find the size that will fit for this car. I read around too and found out I need a certain harness to get the aftermarket radio working but have to have the original still installed. This being because theirs some kind of chip, and it won't properly display maintenance messages.

If you could help thank you! Also need some suggestions for sub's. 10's or 12's. Brand? Amp watts?

  2. im not too keen on brands and amps and such, but crutchfield.com has been known as a benchmark for car audio. should help get you fitted, lots of reviews, excellent customer service.

  3. The speakers in your doors make the biggest sound quality difference.

  4. Amps don't matter too much to me cause they cost so much lol but get a good box and I like Rockfords or kicker. I think alpine is slightly overrated.

  5. What about rewiring the stock radio in the truck while having my touchscreen in the front? Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Also, I've been looking into "15 L3 Kicks probably go out of my way and find a Memphis amp
