Weed Firecracker Help

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Soulus_Ronin, Sep 19, 2014.

  1. I've tried so many different recipes and variations in edible experimentation to attain the famous high of firecrackers but to no avail. Here's a rough summary of my processes blended together tell me what needs to be taken out:

    1) Preheat Oven to 240F (don't know conversion for Celsius sorry), wrap Weed in tin foil and place in an oven for 30 min - 1 hr.
-Now my problem here is I've heard different things about the temperature, time, and whether or not I should even "decarb" the weed. Can someone's give me a solid answer on that please?

    2) While your weed is decarbing (if you chose to do so), Make a mix of Peanut Butter/Nutella and Vegetable Oil/E.V Olive Oil/Coconut Oil/Butter
-So can someone clarify which are the best combination. Personally for taste I enjoy Nutella with Coconut Oil, however like I said I've tried several recipes and I haven't had any good results. Also, when using coconut oil with cannabis ingredients do I just use the oil (liquid) or can I take the solid chunks? Does mixing different oils and butter do anything?

    3) Take Your Decarbed weed out of the oven and then preheat your oven at 300-350 degrees.

4a) Take your *Butter/Oil Mixture and spread it on **Graham/Ritz/Saltine Crackers (Note: *Should have about the viscosity of Jam I believe-spread 1 cm thick in cracker. **For better taste I like Graham Crackers. Then take your weed (Recipes usually call for .5 grams a cracker...or was it sandwhich? Can someone maybe clarify?) and sorinkle it lightly on crackers. (Now what confuses me comes next when people talk about surface area of weed making contact with the peanut butter or nutella)

4b) Take Decarbed weed and mix with peanut butter/oil mixture, then spread over crackers. (Optional: Take E.V Olive Oil/Coconut Oil (1/2 tsp) and drop on weed that has either been mixed or sprinkled (I heard it's better for extraction)
-When spreading in both scenarios is there anything I should avoid, like I've been using a knife mix. Is that a no-no/taboo? Also again, which is better sprinkling or mixing and on top of that can someone better explain the whole surface area contact thing?

    5) After spreading, sandwich crackers and wrap in tinfoil (Now here I believe you are supposed to wrap completely in order to avoid smelling up the place but is there a disadvantage to that? Do you lose transference? I don't know, I'm just taking wild guesses to figure out why these aren't working for me)

    6) Place in oven which has been set at 300-350 degrees and leave for 18-23 minutes.
-Now here, I'm confused as to what the optimal temperature is and what the optimal time is. I've heard the weed can burn at 350, so any suggestions on that?

    7) After time is up, take sandwhiched crackers out of the oven and let them cool down. Once they do Enjoy.

    TL;DR
    SUMMARIZED QUESTIONS
    - Should I decarb my weed for firecrackers? If so for how long and best temp? What color does Decarbed weed look like? Does it really increase potency? Should I completely cover when decarbing?
    - When making the mix what's the best thing to use? When looking for PB what I'm looking for to best aid extraction? (ie I have a MaraNatha All Natural Almond Butter with 25% Total Fat. The texture is a little lumpy when I spread but it has that layer of oil on top that I heard was good. Or should I use my Peter Pan Peanut Butter with 26% Total fat? On the label and we want the fat high right (no pun intended)? What's the best oil to use in combination? If coconut oil do I use liquid or chunks?
-Do I mix weed with peanut butter mixture then spread or do I spread first with the mixture then sprinkle weed? What is this talk of surface area contact?
-Do I completely wrap the crackers in foil once i sandwhich them? Does the way I foil them matter like shiny side or whatever? Do I put them on a dish like a cookie sheet in the oven? How long do I stick them in the oven and how hot should it be for maximum effect? What will they look and smell like if I did them properly.
-I'd consider myself a heavy smoker, I started around Late April or Early May (so about 6 months now.) at first it was only like a dub a month, but then in July I started buying bigger amount and for the last 3-4 weeks I've been smoking like 3 Times a day a joint-joint and a half or 3-5 bowls each session. So how much weed/ crackers should I have to get this long intense high people keep talking about? 1g? 2g?
-Also, I've heard so many debates about whether or not you should consume food prior to smoking or to eat on an empty stomach. I've heard the First Pass Metabolism effect dictates that you have to eat to start the metabolic cycle otherwise your liver will absorb the THC as fuel instead of converting or something like that. But then other people have said they have a quicker hitting and more intense high when they consume the edible on an empty stomach and then eat high fat foods shortly after. Someone please give me confirmation of which is the better option.
-Is using a tabletop convection also a plausible option for this process?

    FINAL MISCELLANEOUS QUESTION
-When making weed brownies is it the process making the brownies or making the cannabis oil that smells up the house?

Sorry for the long read guys, I've done a lot of research but there are so many different opinions and I need some solidarity cuz I've tried a lot of stuff and have yet to have that inexplicable experience. So any feedback is appreciated, even it's not all of it don't be deterred, all knowledge is valuable. Thanks

  2. I have personally never thought firecrackers would do much, but boy was I wrong. Okay as far as decarboxylation, I take my bud usually only 2-3 grams of medicinal nug (never shwag) and break into little "boogers" and put into tin foil. I have a quesadilla maker that is just basically like a george foreman or pancake maker with heat on top and bottom. I put the nug into foil and barely let it sit there for maybe 30 seconds. You will smell like you're vaping off t.h.c. but fear not its just terpines. THC vapes around 350. I open the foil and it usually crumbles to dust and smells like AVB (Already Vaped Bud). So you're first question answered - you will have bud that is dry enough to crumble in your fingers into dust. I have heard of different bonding with different fats/triglycerides so I went out on a limb and mixed about 2 tablespoons of lard, a table spoon or so of sesame seed oil, a teaspoon of canola, and a very little amount of butter. I heat in the microwave and add peanut butter (preferably higher fat content I just use plain old hill country fare). Mix in peanut butter and nuke again. It becomes a liquidy texture but put into freezer to thicken again. I have crumbled up cookies and coffee beans to mix in with a pinch of sugar just to make the treat taste better. After taking out of freezer mix in your decarbed bud. Make sure oven is set at 320 exactly. I use graham crackers because they are sweet and have bigger surface area. I wrap them in foil completely to make little foil squares. I use 4 graham crackers (8 total halves to make 4 graham cracker sandwiches). Make sure they are completely sealed in foil so no goop spills out. Side of the foil makes no difference. I first let them sit in the quesadilla maker for 12-14 minutes. I know this is a grey area for readers because I have no idea what temp is reached with this tool. Main reason I use it is because I can decarb outside and COMPLETELY ELIMINATE smell inside house. After taking those out I wrap them into another sheet of foil. I put into oven at exactly 320 for 22 minutes. <----this is the time and temp recommended through the stoner cookbook. Then once done immediately put into freezer for at least 10 minutes. Convection should be fine for this process as far as I know. And as far as smell when Ive made brownies with canna butter the whole house smelled like a reggae fest. Thats why I love these because after de-carbing and completely mixing with peanut butter there is no bud smell. For your last question about absorption Ihave read different forums about the 2 areas of your stomach and how it absorbs into the mucus membrane. Supposably eat 20-30 minutes beforehand. I also read about tricking your first level of your stomach by eating a small meal with a teaspoon of sesame seed oil to absorb the edibles into the right area. This is an area you will have to further research because Im not an expert at the level of digestion, I just know what works for me. MAIN THINGS - YOU MUST DECARB FOR EDIBLES TO KNOCK YOU DOWN. DECARBING TURNS THC-A (THC ACIDITY) INTO THC (PSYCHO-ACTIVE). I used 2.5 grams of purple kush (I usually hate purp strains cuz they are over rated but this kush strain is a wonderful hybrid) Roughly 4 giant scoops with a tablespoon of canna-peanut-butter and four full sized graham crackers. I eat one firecracker and I get so blazed that I don't know what to do next. Keep them in your freezer in a ziplock to preserve. Hope I answered all or most of your questions bro. My buddy tried one too and same results - blitzed out of his skull. Any questions feel free to ask.

  3. I've chalked up my lack of reaction to edibles to my tolerance. Up until recently I was going through Half-O's every week, 2-3 gs a day. So I've been cutting down my intake and then I'm gonna take a 1-2 week break after which I will make some firecrackers with some AVB. I made this post because I thought I was making them wrong, but then I made some for my friend and I. I gave her two and I took three. I didn't feel a thing, but she was gone for nearly 48 hours. So I came to that conclusion.

One last thing, I keep on getting conflicting answers. People tell me that making weed brownies doesn't smell it's just making the oil/cannabutter but now you're telling me from personal experience when you make brownies it smells the house up. Or maybe you make them both simultaneously and so the source of the smell gets mixed. Could you clarify that pease?

Other than that thanks for the response :) gives me more insight
