Thc Trichomes Look More Like Pine Needles Then Mushrooms... Why?

    Why are some THC Trichomes i see shaped like pine needles instead of little mushrooms?  Isn't it true that they need the ball on the end of the trichome in order to produce THC resin inside?
     
    I uploaded 2 photos, one with pine needle like trichomes and one with muchroom like trichomes.
     
    The first photo has needle like trichomes and the second had mushroom trichomes.
    Why is this, and how can i get mushroom thc glands on all my plants?
