For the record I'm familiar with the SS vs Ti argument I would NEVER use a SS nail, but I feel since heat is being applied to the nail rather than the dabber itself SS dab tools are relatively safe.

Although I still prefer to use my glass or Ti tools I recently picked up a gold plated SS dabber from my friend who works at a shop (I mean come on its gold!). It wont be my daily dabber but I was wondering peoples opinions on how safe it would be to use. Does the gold make it more inert or more prone to give off extra nastiness? I have no idea if its gold plated or gold coloured or what but I didn't pay much for it so figured I'd add it to the collection. Thoughts, opinions, Bueller?

  2. I wouldn't use anything but TI or glass.

Every metal will leave traces when rubbed with another metal.

So you will leave SS on your nail and next time you dab you are dabbing SS

  3. Yaa makes sense.
Probably gonna use the scoop side to move crumble and the like around since it's like a damn shovel. I'll try to stay away from dabbing with it.

  4. I guess you could say you hit the "nail" on the head with that one

  5. Yeah there's a potential to smear those metals into the surface of your nail, there's no real evidence that it's happening on ti and with our uses but it makes pretty good sense to me

  6. I'd love to test and see if the gold plating rubs off during dabbing but not willing to be my own guinea pig.
