Crumble Wax With A Glass Nail?

  1. So I just ordered a little fritted disc rig with but it comes with a 10mm glass nail. I'll pick up a ceramic domeless or invest in a good titanium one sometime, but for now I'm not sure how to dab with it if I have crumble? It's not a bucket glass nail, it's one of those with like a ball. I was thinking of just heating up my dabber with a little wax to make it sticky or heating up the wax a little to make it shatter, whatcha guys think? Also, would either of these work as good as a normal torch?

  2. first off 10mm nails are VERY small so yes you'll prob have to do that and take small dabs for the time being, also those 10 glass nails are so small any torch would work but personally i like propane torches, very reliable and cheap. Also when you switch i'd just go ti.

  3. i wouldnt use either of those torches with a ti nail tho, prob too small

  4. Careful with propane and glass, very easy to break them. Definitely get a domeless with a carb cap so you can take decent sized dabs

  5. yes, be very careful, my glass nail literally started flaking apart from overheating (i should say that was my first nail and i had no idea what i was doing

  6. its not from overheating, it can handle crazy temperatures. its just from heating it too quickly, you need to start with a small flame or from far away and slowly bring it in. Boro expands and contracts so if you heat it up too quickly, it will crack. Quartz doesnt expand or contract so thats why you can heat it red and dunk it in water no problems.

That would make sense i think I read somewhere boro's COE is around, i cant even remember, but i remember Quartz's being 0 (which as you know means it does not expand or contract with heat)

  8. Boro is COE33

  9. Roll the crumple up into a ball and stab it with a needle..  Heat the nail 10-15 seconds or so, waait, and dab away.
