First Grow In A Pc

  1. Sup GC, I'm attempting my first grow in a Desktop Case.

    This is it so far:

  2. Sorry for the double post...

I have two seeds in a cup of water, waiting to be germinated. Also with all 5 lights on, I'm getting temps in the high 80's low 90's. So I will have to fiddle with all my fans, and possibly add two more or move them around. Exhaust fans at the top, (Three of them in total) and two intake fans towards the bottom. (Two of em) Is what I have to do.

Last couple things to do, would be to get some nutes for the babies and to seal off the case completely.

    More soon! :D

  3. cool. that's alot of wattage for a pc. :)

  4. @[member="Bongsauce"] yeah it is. I have 4 6500k bulbs at 23 watts each I believe. And one 2500k. If I can get my temps down, I can fit one more CFL. Hoping to get a 42W one.

The strain I decided to go with was Northern Lights, as it seems to be a good one for a first grow.

    More once the seeds germinate!

  5. the 6500 bulbs will run a few degress cooler then the 2500k ime.  For flowering though you should go with all 2500/2700 or w/e

  6. Good to know, thanks. I'll just switch out the CFL's once it starts the flowering stage.

  7. Subbed. NL is one of my favorite strains. You may need a couple more fans that's a lot of wattage/heat for a case

I also giggled when I seen your temp/ humidity gauges, just because that's a great idea. :bongin:

  8. Subbed because I am thinking of trying this myself.

  9. @[member="DazedAndStoned"] Yeah, I like potent bud.. loool

I will most likely end up running 6 fans in total.. shit is gonna be loud AF! The exhaust is more important I believe. So I will run 4 exhaust fans and 2 intake, and possibly find another for more circulation or just to cool the lights.

6 fans won't be that bad if you get a fan speed controller, my cab has 6 LED UFOs and 9 140mm noctura fans and you can't hear it from 10 ft away. With a room fan on you can't even hear it.
You don't even need two fans as an intake 1 is plenty, air will be sucked in through cracks everywhere because of negative pressure. If you plan on putting carbon filters on them, then the more exhaust the better because their airflow will be reduced a lot

Hmm. I didn't think about the way that would work with negative pressure. I was actually thinking of hooking the fans up via an Arduino (Micro Controller) to control fan speed, plus I can have it send me updates to my phone about the temps and what not. But not too sure yet.

  12. I may be going that route too for my flowering cab if my fan speed controller doesn't pan out. I have a spare one I was going to use for a quadrotor but the well being of my girls is more important.

  13. What you gonna do when the plant gets bigger than the box?

  14. That is not going to happen.... Have you even read anything at all in the Micro Section, let alone see any of the numerous PC grows that were successful? Do some reading my friend, there are quite a few things one can do to prevent that. One being LST.

So both seeds germinated! Ahhhh yeahh. I put them in some cups that are a little smaller than a solo cup, as that's all I had. They should be nice and warm in there.

  16. So I broke a CFL this morning while trying to adjust the position..... Oh well, I have to return a broken one I bought anyways, so I'll grab another.

Besides that, I put a little humidity dome over the girls yesterday. But when I woke up this morning my fans didn't turn on!!! The lights were on, but I believe the solder joint wasn't good enough.... they were burning in the heat for about 3 hours. I wish I took a picture, because the guage on the Thermometer was off the chart! Like it literally spun around pass 130.... yikes

  17. dang dude..be careful with broken cfls. There's nasty shit inside. Make sure to carefully clean the area....

  18. Take your plants out and lightly clean everything in there with a damp cloth a few times. Luckily your plants are covered. Turn off the lights and lightly clean the bulbs also. There's a lot of nasty stuff that gets released when CFLs break. You don't want to injest when harvested

  19. So.... I still have no sprouts on both cups. I must have done something wrong
