Yeah defiantly need to be prepared they require a lot of attention more so if you live in a hot area I live in South Carolina so she had to get groomed almost every week just to keep her comfortable and from getting matted but shit grooming is the least of your worrys when it comes down to it.

I know someone who actually owns a wolf and thought it was a dog. He thought it was a Husky and the first time he took it to the vet, the vet was in shock and said it was actually a wolf. I have actually seen this wolf in person and I could tell it was a wolf since it had a longer snout and a lot bigger than an average Husky.

The wolf is white in color so I can see why they mistook it for a husky when it was a pup. Since it was raised as a pup, it is very loyal and has never attacked anyone.

  9. I owned a wolf (said by animal control since it's not recognized and looks like a wolf), was actually a Korean dog (jindo), technically they're wolves but somewhat domesticated.

You will need 8 foot tall fence with concrete base (excellent diggers and climbers), a large yard and plenty of attention.

They will do ok with large body dogs but anything their size or smaller will be constantly harassed. They don't accept being beta to any other dog regardless of size.

They were used to hunt boars deer tigers and bears in Korea without firearms since it's illegal to hunt with firearms where this dog comes from. 2 jindos is all is needed to bring down any large game, no training required.

Pros: they for some reason do not like to urinate or poop near their home, naturally they'd claw at the door even as puppies. Excellent guard dog, they do not take food from strangers, will die for owner. Extreme bravery.

Cons: will attack other dogs so parks and beaches are an obvious no. They easily jump fences but not to run away, to protect their 1 square mile territory. Every dog in this square mile will be attacked or mounted. They shed like a mother fucker. My grass looked like brown snow during shedding seasons (twice annually).

I have the domesticated mini version, shiba inu.

Wolfs dogs as long as they are not F1(first generation) are legal but not everywhere. Every City is different and it varies by city not county. My Huskies dad is a full blooded timber wolf, I wish I could post pictures but it's on my older virgin mobile phone and I can't take pics off it. He is a huge MOFO. He stood up on his hind legs and was 6 feet tall.

Anyway if you ever go looking for them, they need at least a 6 foot fence, they do well with other wolf dogs/pack breeds because of the mentality. If you see pink pads they are not a wolf dog or it's very minimal chance they are. Same thing with blue eyes, wolf dogs don't have blue eyes. They also don't come in white as cubs(they are called cubs not puppies) These are general terms though, anything can happen. I have been doing research for years because it's hard to find a true wolfdog that isn't just some mutt someone has mixed like this web site... http://www.wolfhuskypups.com/
That site is full of fake wolf dogs. People generally breed malamutes or huskies with a GSD and it gives the look because you get the longer snout and bigger paw size to body ratio because of the GSD genes. If you need more help PM me. This is something serious to look into if you want one. Most people wont/can't handle it.
