Help Please? New Grower Stressing Out

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by ClosetGrower14, Sep 16, 2014.

  1. Hello, I recently started growing (09/03/13) to be exact and I've been having trouble with my girls for days now. At first I thought I was having trouble with tempatures and humidity but I figured out a way to maintain 75-78 temp with humidity around 40-45%.

I then was concerned about light height and checked all the books and I'm getting a general agreement that my t5 light should be 6 inches above the canopy.

I was feeding tap water with a pH level of 6.3 from a base of 7.4 so I think I'm good there. I was then concerned about over feeding being a new grower and all so I have been doing the weight test on my solos and making sure my girls are nice and hungry. (Pictures below show most recent feeding on 9/15/14). I've now added some b-1 thrive to my water with other recommended nutrients for the transplanting stage. I then ph'ed that to a 6.3.

So here's the problem. My oldest girl labeled "green #1" has two leaves that completely dried up and willowed away now the tips on the rest of her is starting to do the same thing. I wanna stop this and focus on new growth but don't know what I'm doing wrong. Also my biggest girl (yellow #2) is starting to show signs of the same problem as well. Then I have one ugly duck who is twisting like she's being regenerated. Not sure what's going on with that or if its the phenotype of the plant. (I'm new to this) lol.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

  2. What kind of soil are they in?

  3. According to your pics, your plants are fine. Let them grow.

Completley dried up and willowed away lol.....

  4. I can't show piks of dead leaves since they are gone. I removed them so the plant wasn't using energy to try to rebuild and focus on root growth. What your seeing is my recent photos.

  5. This is a classic example of "loving the plants do death!"

The lights are on, they have water leave them the fuck alone and they will grow like a mad raped ape.

  6. I sure hope so! I'm new and I'm so freaking worried only these 4 made it out of 15!!!!!

  7. When the only the tips burn like that, it's generally nutrient burn so try to lower the dosage of nutes given. They will also lose their two first bottom leafs(they have a name which I forgot) and it's not a problem, it's actually a good sign.

  8. Not the preliminary leaves the second set burned off

  11. Don't they are drowning.

Transplant (even though they dont need it) to a gallon pot with DRY soil! The roots are rotting from lack of Oxygen.

    Stop watering so fucking much.

  12. ^^^^  This....

  13. OK I will transplant right now to unwatered soil

    Cotyledons

  15. OK I transplanted into 3 gal fabric smart pots. 3 had great root build up for their age 1 of the 3 the soil split on me but I'm hopeful she survived. The oldest green #1 had no root development along the sides of the solo. Pretty sure she's gone. She is the one dying the quickest. Fingers crossed.

  16. Thanks couldn't think of the name at the moment haha.

  17. Just water every few days, marijuana is a weed so truly they can survive with minimal water. Also keep the nutrient dosage down when they are babies.  Good luck, fingers crossed for you.

  18. Transplanted still wilting. Any ideas anyone?

  19. Here's the recent update with piks... Yellow #3 is doing great took the transplant her leaves have perked up and showing new growth.... Yellow #2 is wilting more but the leaves have perked however the shade of green is changing to a yellowish color almost lime... Yellow #6 is starting to wilt and has shown no new growth (this is the one where the dirt broke in half during transplant due to moist soil) also turning a yellowish lime green... Green #1 has severely started to wilt no new growth (this plant had no visible root mass during transplant) one leaf however has twisted it's self to get more light not sure if you can tell in the pik. Please help. I haven't fed them in 2 days and they are sitting in very dry soil. When should I water and how much. Should I flush with clean water (no nutes) or should I add some diluted b-1 thrive? Your time is much appreciated.

  20. What soil are your plants in? Maybe I didn't read.

I'll let another expert reply to help you out, but  for me my bottom spear leaves ended up completely wilting away and then suddenly the plant popped (yes, in a good way). If your soil is dry now, pick the bucket up and get a feel for the weight of it. Do it a couple times, memorize how it feels. When you do water it...I feel like that's preference. Growers like Snoop have told me to start out by watering with a shot-glass, then to a small coffe cup; others have said it's good to pretend you're watering a group full of roots the size of your hand; others have said to water all the way through until you get some run-off.

Each method I'm sure has its pros and cons and benefits each different grower in some way, whether in simplicity or in effecinicey. I'll leave it up to them to post back to you, but if there's 1 plant growing strong it seems you're doing something right.
