    Hey Guys!

I'm just a working guy who is fed up with paying too much for green. I started this grow for me and my wife to have a little peace and not worry about how much we smoke because we'll always have plenty. I'm sick of running out and not being able to find any more...

I'm doing this grow journal for all the blades to have a little more eye candy and for me to be able to document my thoughts and pictures in one place.

    Helpful criticism is welcomed!

    Setup:
600 W MH (currently 450) cool tube setup
    2x4x5 grow tent
440 cfm 6" inline fan and carbon filter
3x strain hunters/ greenhouse "Moneymaker" master kush seeds
    Earth Juice organic nutes
Pike Nurseries organic potting soil (cheap 10.00 a bag stuff)
    Perlite mixed 30% to soil

Ok so I don't have anything special here... all of my equipment including seeds (and an oscillating fan I forgot to mention) only cost 600.00.. Pretty much everything came off of amazon.

    Thoughts Day 4

-Seedlings have excessive stretch.... I believe I was too easy on the seedlings afraid the light was going to burn them from 30" +away. I should have moved them within 6-8 inches from the start.

-soil could be better quality but because of the perlite, It drains awesome! Im curious to see how bargain soil fares!

    Woo Hoo!  First in!!

    I get first harvest!!

sounds like you have similar equipment as I do.  Just bought mine new for 600.  Inline fan, HPS bulb, Enclosed hood, and ballast.  Plus a few other odds and ends.

    Good luck bro!

    Subbed up!

  3. sounds good.  I have a similar but smaller "closet" tent and set up.  This looks like a good Vegetative room.  Do you have a setup for flowering area? or are you going from seed to harvest?  Gj so far!!

  4. I'll be following this one. how close are the lights to the leaves?

  5. yes seed to harvest.. i have a hps that hopefully i can run at the full 600 when it cools down a little here. I've noticed that the only real limitation to lighting is ventilation!

    @[member="kronity"],
MH at 450W is about 8 inches... seems to have stopped the stretch

  6. end of day 5.... this one is looking good to me

  7. So they were dying on me; day eight and they're not any bigger but yellower. Local shop advised that 8" was way too close that 30" from the 450 W MH was the right distance. Got a PH test kit and notice my water was about 6.0 will adjust to 6.5. Shop also advised to water maybe every 4 days with 15% run off instead of just a few ounces every other day. Will update pics tomorrow!

  8. Alright,

scaled my light down to 300w for the last few days... new growth appearing. Hydro store advised could give them a shot of canna start if I believed that my soil was nutrient deprived.. It turns out to be pretty cheap stuff with more bark than one would like.
I gave them a full feeding per the bottle's instuction and ph'd the water between 6 and 6.5.Delaying pics til tomorrow

  9. finally looking healthy and growing good again... no where where they should be at this age (day 12) but I have high hopes! CAM00161.jpg CAM00162.jpg CAM00163.jpg

  10. repotted today into new soil mix with EWC. Pics tomorrow

  11. LOL SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY TROUBLES!!! Soil is for the worms, man. So about 8 days ago I canned all my soil and transplanted my best plants into coir and popped new seeds in coir.

I'm using Canna A&B and the results speak for themselves. I water appx every 48 hours and I'm able to keep 600w on at least half the time since cooler weather set in down south .

This stuff is too easy. I burned them the first time by going 1/2 strength at transplant and i've backed it down to a quarter strength. I mix 5 gallons at a time and make sure I get plenty of runoff.

This is with tap water as well!!! (as the label suggests).

  12. This week has been hell week. Work has been shitty, and a ton of family drama... Is this a grow journal or a personal one?

I'll be honest, I'm not doing this because I have a green thumb or I like growing plants.... I need weed.

Last night I was feeling good and had the A/C crunk and 600watts running on my ballast an dontcha know I fried my breaker box. No A/C, no lights in half the apartment, and I thought I was gonna have to scrap the grow.

Things I've learned by growing marijuana that no one told me ( or I didn't see on a forum).

    1. Soil is not for beginners (IMHO; YMMV)
    2. Lights are fucking bright. Buy some shades before you fry your cornea.
    3. Apartments suck. Maintenance always has a reason to come in. But to my amazement, if you hide your ductwork and the fan isn't audible, people don't ask questions. No less than ten outsiders have walked by my grow. Keep in mind there is nothing illegal about growing tomatoes indoors. No one has a right to unzip your tent.
    4. You want to tell everyone but you cant.
    5. Less than halfway into it, you wish you would've used $1000.00 to buy some good shit to last the next 9 months or so.

Looks good bro, better than mine when I started. Mine were clones and my water was so bad that it really stunted the plant's, I had no clue. They have some nice looking buds now but they are small. I have some Vortex seeds I am going to run next and I am certain they will be WAY better. I have learned so much over these months that I cannot see them being so much better next run, especially seeing that they are from seeds on the next grow. Your plants look good and fairly healthy. Perhaps just a bit more nitrogen, be reserved about it, I slightly burned mine when I gave them (some much needed) high nitro bat guano. Keep going bro and do not forget to give them plenty of love and attention.

  16. I agree that my big one is definitely on the yellow side. I don't think its a nitrogen issue as the lower leaves are a darker green than the newer ones...

But I have had problems with ph being too low (around 5) so I flushed this morning with PH of around 7.0 and the runnoff is about 5.5.
Hopefully at the roots, I finally have it to about 6.0.

I really don't have the greatest drainage and wish I could've afforded perlite, but my issue here lately is trying to slowly adjust the PH up and while doing so, my waterings are too frequent. (once every 2 days minimum)

In a small pot, I could get away with that, in the 2.5 gallons, I'm having issues. I'm going to pledge to wait till wednesday and not fuck with them!!!!!

Dude, if I just got 2 ounces, I'd be really happy with this grow. Thats how desperate I feel right now. I'm about 800.00 into this grow and need this for my mental health.

I really appreciate your feedback and taking your time to check out my journal. I needed your comment more than you could ever possibly know :)

  17. What strain are you running dude? Or just random bagseeds?

  18. Money Maker and 2 of the smaller are sleestack skunk... I didnt mark them like a total noob

  19. You could think about putting some holes in the side of the pot. It would allow you to water more frequently and allow for air pruning. Just a  thought. You could do it with the dirt in the pots, just do not go to deep and hit the roots.
