Been smoking very regularly for a year and with the amount of money I've been spending I've decided it'd probably be a good idea to get a vaporiser, cos these days I can easily burn through 2 grams of weed with my friends in a couple of days and never truly get a big high from it.

Budget is flexible. £150 is the upper limit but I'd be looking to spend less than that if possible.

Efficiency is the most important thing.

    Build quality is important too.

Portability and general ease of use are other factors I'm taking into account but not priorities. I know there's a learning curve and I'm willing to go through that (unless it's a total pain to use).

Desktop vapes seem to be regarded as the most efficient but I've read that the compared to portables the efficiency may only be ~25% higher depending on the model, in which case I'd probably be willing to sacrifice it. I'll be smoking largely at home and stealth isn't really an issue but it would be nice to have something I could carry about.

So far the Arizer Solo has piqued my interest (despite the price). Heard good things about the Vapman too. Seen that the MFLB is very popular but it seems to focus on portability and I've heard bad things about its battery which seems a bit of a pain. Da Vinci Ascent looks beautiful but I've heard it's inferior to the Arizer Solo, and it's pretty pricey too.

    Opinions?

Only really wanna look into stuff I can get from within the UK too, to avoid customs and large delivery charges, but since the Solo is so much cheaper in the US I was wondering if anyone had any experience getting imports from the US and whether it was worth it.

Side question: unlike my friends I'm not a big fan of body highs and prefer strong head highs that get me feeling creative, enjoying music, laughing at everything etc, and I was wondering if using one of these vapes properly is the best way to get that out of a high?

  2. Hey I went with the magic flight and have never looked back man

  3. How does it compare to smoking?

There is no comparison between smoking and vaping. I mean in terms of identical comparisons that is. But if you really want to dig deep and know why it's an all around better alternative, then for one vaping is a lot healthier than smoking. See with smoking, you're taking in the THC plus additional bullshit from the weed thus giving you a high, but a sledgehammer high(what I call it) and that's mainly what's not healthy for you when people talk about smoking. The tar, little molecules of ashes you're inhaling, the excessive amount of heat you're putting in your lungs and let's not forget the dangers of smok inhalation. You won't notice that you've been getting a shitty high all these years from smoking until you vape. When you vape, the bud burns at a temperature hot enough to extract the THC from the weed but cool enough to leave out the crap that you'd get from smoking and burns it a temperature where you're not smoking, but vaping it. It's kind of like boiling the THC out of the weed with water if you get what I'm saying. Anyways, this results in you getting a purer, much more mellow, "clean" high. I never get downers from vaping unless I accidentally let it combust which is easily avoidable once you learn how to manage your vape and time it properly. It's also great for those who go to the gym and work on their cardio and ETC.

Like the guy up there said, the MFLB is a good start, especially for people who just started vaping and it's currently what I am using. It get's the job done, it's portable so you can take it anywhere, it's discreet and the smell is almost non-existent(especially if you're outside forget about it you can vape 3 bowls and no one would know). Take it to concerts, take it to school, take it wherever. It's a safer, cleaner, much more modern way of interacting with weed and like I said the high is way better. MFLB, get it.

Oh and one more thing: Weed conservation. The amount of weed you save by vaping compared to smoking is... well you'll see for yourself.

  5. Yeah this is the main thing I'm interested in.

How do the MFLB and Arizer Solo compare (mostly thinking in terms of efficiency)? Never really seen the point in getting "beginner" gear if you're gonna get the better stuff at some point anyway, and the price difference isn't that huge anyway.

  6. The mflb will be more efficient because it only heats the herb when you depress the battery, whereas the solo is a combination of convection and conduction. The conduction side of solo constantly cooks your herb making it less efficient than the mflb. The solo is easier to attain a larger vapor cloud though due to the "set it and forget it" manner of this vape. I've owned and heavily used both vapes and recommend the mflb because of the portability and conservation factor. I would also recommend getting the finishing grinder if you do decide on the mflb.

  7. ^^ Solid advice.

  8. Don't disregard butane vapes like the Lotus, Hammer and new Daisy.  All of those 3 will produce much bigger clouds than either the mflb or solo. Also, all of them are in your price range.

  9. Are clouds related to efficiency though?

  10. Iwien can give you the info you need there, far better than I can.  The butane vapes do produce bigger clouds but they hit much more like a desktop. i.e my lotus can totally vape a bowl (dark brown ABV) in 4 to 5 hits where as it takes my mflb around 12 to 15 to do the same.

Don't get me wrong, I love the mflb and solo and own both.  But since I bought my Lotus it has became my daily driver.  The others still get used but not as much.  It's just another option for you really.

  11. I would also look at the Hammer if you look around you can find a nice review that Ren wrote up. I own a MFLB and I really like it myself I have had a 1/8 of ground weed last me like two weeks when I just fill the trench up half way and hit it till it was a nice brown color.

  12. Just get a Flowermate Vapormax V5. Its very similar to a Pax minus the ability to change temps. It now comes with a glass mouthpiece also. There is an adjustable temp version of it but not readily available in the UK yet. It can be had for £50 or so if you look on eBay. Check out the reviews on it and on YouTube. Its what I'm using since I lost my Ascent to a burglary and have nothing but praise for it.

  13. Or if you want a desktop type of vape get the Vapir Rise. Can be had for £150 on eBay and seriously it's the best bang for buck vape going. Much better than a Volcano. You'll love it especially with the balloon attachment and a group of friends. A gram pretty much fills the bag and gets four baked for me.

  14. lol

  15. What's so funny? Besides you being a twat that is.

  16. Your post. You know that thing I quoted.

  17. Fuck off you trolling wanker. His budget is £150. A Volcano is rubbish for the price. Vapir Rise is less than half the cost. There's nothing funny about that at all apart from you being a pretentious wanker. Now that is funny

This post is to be taken with a grain of salt.

PH made his post because the vapir rise is one of the worst dual functionality vapes on the market. The shear fact that the fan HAS to be on at all times is enough to turn me away from it. Along with vapir's terrible product line and dicey customer service.

The herbalaire and the extreme q are both much better dual functionality vapes in that price range.

  19. That's your opinion. You won't see me randomly typing 'Lol'. That's cool. His budget is £150. That's the best desktop type vape you can get at that price range. You'll also find a lot of people who would disagree with you. Loads in fact. Let me know when you find something better for his budget.

  20. You're not from the U.K are you? Neither of those is readily available in the U.K. What a plonker.
