If we're talking poly/open relationship here, it doesn't even sound like that would work out. If the other man hates you and isn't cool with the situation as is, there's no way he'd be cool with this girl dating both of you. I'm not poly, but from what I hear about those kind of relationships, everyone involved has to be 100% comfortable with each other or it'll all horribly fall apart.
