Many different reasons. Two that I can think of right away are trying to get better at a game so you see the popular streamers. Second, before buying a game you can see the gameplay along with commentary
Not a big twitch guy . Every streamer I get shown is more boring then the last. I'd rather go to YouTube and see something with quality editing, comedy, and usually better picture quality. Plus it seems people only stream 10 or so popular games and everything is pretty much left in the dark. Got anything to prove me wrong? Yeah it's not for eveyone.I'm not very social in real life so I like twitch.The channels I watch, I like because the people overall are nice and shit.If your not someones friend or co-worker and even then people talk shit.Alot of people need to do some introspection but I doubt it'll ever happen and now Im off on a ramble I'm putting a few more links up soon so check them out.

its not at all just another youtube. it fills a role, just not one you or me thinks we need. i know a lot of people that love it. its exclusively for gaming and the way the content creators are paid isnt even close to the way youtube pays theirs.

too bad the viewer base on youtube streaming is non existent. Looking at the twitch games page there is over 100k viewers in just the top 4 games combined. Me thinks you are older and disconnected from whats relevant these days. This quote exemplifies that.. Streaming is better than youtube for people who like to sit down for hours, or on and off during the day and watch someone play a game. Its a lot better for people who like to chat with others at the same time, as well as experience the RAW un-edited version of what streamers upload to youtube. its also better for content providers (people who stream) because they can recieve DIRECT donations from fans who watch. I've watched streams where people have made more than $10,000 from a single donation. If you dont get it you just dont get it, and you dont get it. Also to those who think twitch is a flash-in-the-pan type of website.. Amazon bought it for $1Billion a few weeks ago.

There are hundreds of gaming tournaments every month that thrive and survive off of the live streaming platform. And have been for ~10 years now. Its not just singular content creators. And I like the passive aggressive "begging" for money comment. If people want to donate money, who are you to complain about it? You sound pretty butthurt tbh.
