so I know when I'm ready to harvest to put the girls in the dark for 24-48hrs etc, plan too, but still a few weeks away. Catch is I had no choice but to leave them locked up for apprx 36hrs this weekend... They weren't ready to harvest yesterday when I locked them up, and they're still in the dark now, til sometime tomorrow. I know screwing with their photoperiod doesn't help them, at least when light is concerned. Does anyone have any ideas about this extended dark period, followed by another week or two of 11/13? They're coming up to week 6 of flowering
Damn bro, 2 full days of dark that late in flowering is never gonna be good! I would say hit them with 12/12 and check daily for hermies.
Almost full days, they'll get out later this afternoon. Didn't have a choice. Had to go outta town😟, it was either leave outside, where we hit freezing already😟😧 or leave them in a warm dark shed... Why would the dark cause them to turn hermie?
Can hermies be for any good? Don't they "bud" up? Aren't they sterile so no worries of unwanted seed pods..? Sent from my Z740G using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I'm new to most of the growing aspect but my assumption as to why hermies are unwanted is because the resin in the seed pods, if not used to fertilize seeds(duds or not) would eventually be expelled into the bud(flower) versus taking the energy from the production of buds & putting into making seeds I can't use. Wouldn't be as potent would be my guess, and I'd have useless seeds. Someone with actual experience with hermies can clarify?
So, home, they look fine.. Stupid question, but what's the signs of a hermie? They're resin sacs are practically bursting....
