Ive got a 4000 Watt HPS Medical Marijuana Legal Grow Planned in a 10x10 room (in a larger garage) 4 - 1000 Watt Sunsystem Lights Switchable Sunsystem magnetic ballasts 4-6 plants per light As winter approaches, Im worrying about the garage temperate! I have seen a couple people recycle the heated air from their lights back into the system - to keep the place heated without the need for additional space heaters. I figure with 4 lights, ill try Expelling 2 of the lights outside and reintroduce the warm air from the other 2 back into the garage. Fresh air comes in through duct --> goes to ---> 2 lights----> into garage y-split ----> 2 lights ----> outside Air cools and enters system thru fan at the bottom of the front wall- Hot air leaves thru carbon filter- Any adjustments you'd make? Heres what i mached up on photo shop- imagine a plastic wall covering the front (closest to you) FIRST photo shows basic room- SECOND photo has potential air flow set up
How cold is the winter? How well insulated is the building? Maybe you won't need to vent the lights at all. Seal the room and add co2. There are lots of vairibles...... Dewey Beach
You know a trusty electrician? Mine is gonna hook my light fan controls to a thermostat for winter use. They are cool tubes that are hooked up to exhaust fans. Everything is sealed, outside air to cool the hoods, exhaust to the outdoors. The fan will be controlled by a thermostat so it kicks on when the air reaches 75 degrees. Not a huge thing, but will save me some on heating costs.
