Century Rides

  1. So last sunday I did the biggest ride of my life,101 miles!

I feel great about it and I feel it was more mental than physical.

At mile 78 I developed a pain in my right knee and fought through the last 20 or so miles of sweeping hills.Sometimes it felt like i had run out of gears because the hills were so steep.Passing older guys on the hills in the last quarter was an ego boost that helped me along.

So blades, whats the farthest you've rode your bicycle?

Maybe other century riders will chime in?

  2. Congrats man. That's impressive. About 12 miles for me :(

  3. I used to ride 20 miles to work and another 20 home, eat, back to the beach for kayak practice, and 20 miles home again.  Those were such great memories, being the fittest I ever was.

Well done on your huge ride.  Did you have any problems with traffic around you? Any bike fails?  I hated how much glass was on the road but I got pretty fast at changing tires.
