Bat Poop/honey For Yo Buds

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by ledhead0014, Sep 9, 2014.

  1. So joe has some plants that have had miracle grow bloom booster applied one time but he has decided against it because of the bad hype surrounding it and the desire to make his medicine organic. He has now heard about bat poop for bud health and adding honey or molasses to the water for bud density. Is it safe to add both to the plants at the same time? And if he quits with the miracle grow stuff can he add some other nutrients with the poop and honey to take its place?

  2. Bat guano fish fert sea kelp and pure cane sugar and molasses work great!!! Hi brix molasses make it easy use floranectar made by general hydroponics or mix 1 teaspoon molasses per gallon solution. Hi brix works best. Use 1 cup of pure cane sugar per 5 gallons of solution. Bat poo is usually 3 tablespoons per gallon of media or I added to compost tea 1 tablespoon per gallon. Molasses is potassium based its also acidic so it lowers ph of solution

  3. Thanks guys. But do you think he can keep adding the miracle grow while adding all of this other stuff? His friend is really wanting to keep adding the bloom booster because of the good things that have been happening with it. He plans on lowering the dose though because of the risk of burning the plant.

  4. Another question. Joe got his guano and is going to make tea with it. Can he just mix it in the water and shake it up every once in awhile and it be ready in say 12 hours? Or does it really have to be 48-72 hours like ive read

  5. Not just any old molasses, but blackstrap molasses, specifically!!

  6. Alright. Joe has to wait til next year to use it since he will be harvesting in a few weeks anyways. But he will get some good blackstrap

  7. Molasses is best used as a way to feed/increase the microherd, the beneficial bacteria in the soil, to help them increase their size and numbers. This in turn helps with nutrient uptake of the organic nutrients in the soik. It is counterproductive to use molasses by itself as well as miracle gro nutrients. Miracle gro is a salt based fert that destroys and/or kills the microbe activity in the soil so the molasses has little to no effect. Actually I would assume it would just overload the soil and need to be flushed out. I use molasses with earthworm castings in a tea to brew more microbes for the soil to help breakdown the organic material in my soil and make it available to the plants when they need or want it.
Bat guano is a slow release fert, takes years to fully breakdown. It's great to add to a soil that you plan on reusing, provided you didn't dump that miracle gro shit in the soil. That being said, yes bat guano is great. If you understand how to use it. There is some in my soil. Along with a whole bunch of other organic 'nutes'. My garden is water only except for the occasional tea, like once a month if that. Everything my girls need is available in the soil. I put together a great soil mix, let it sit so it could cycle, and have been using it for about a year and a half. What I do is if I don't have anything ready to go into the soil I dump it in my compost bin in the back, toss in some kelp alfalfa worm castings crab meal Oyster shell powder and some rock dust, mix it up and wet it a bit then let it chill till I am ready to use it again. Cheap, easy, and the local nurseries get my business instead of some big unknown hydro company selling me crap that makes my soil unusable.

  8.
If you want to make true aerated compost tea, you need to bubble it with an air stone or stones and have molasses mixed in. If youre just going to mix the guano in with some water, theres no need to let it sit. Just mix it up and pour it in. Aerated tea is far better than just mixing it in the water. You make the microbes breed like crazy which makes the nutrients available to the plant in a much faster fashion.

  9. Bat guano? Hell I used to take a dump and mix it in with the soil by hand. No gloves. Stunk badly, but it got the job done. Killed all my plants in just 3 weeks!

  10. Haha i am going to shit on my neighbors plants. A-holes
