I have degenerative disk disease and my GP literally walked out of the office on me when I asked about medical marijuana. After calling my neck Dr. and leaving a message for him to call me I received a call back from the nurse telling me that they would never prescribe marijuana. This has really bothered me considering both doctors have tried putting me on heavy opiates in the past and I have refused. Also, there is no prescribing by doctors in Illinois. All they do is sign a consent form saying I have X ailment. My question is what is the best way to go about finding a new doctor? Do I just call around and simply straight up ask? I've never had to switch doctors before and am being told it can be a headache to transfer all records, so I'm only trying to do this once. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks
