Hey guys I am going to attempt to make some cannabis oil using a oz of bubble hash and everclear. I m curious if a few things. Should I decarb the bubble hash first? And if so what is the perfected temp/time for bubble hash. Secondly how much everclear will I need to be sure I absorb all cannabanoids I don't want to use to little ec and be over saturated. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Of I will cook off the ec with a double boiler. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
When you cook the ec off, it will decarb then, no need to decarb first, unless you're shooting for CBN. You want to completely cover the hash, minimum. Oversaturation is less a problem with volume than with temperature, so make sure all your materials are frozen cold for the wash. Excess alcohol just means longer evap periods. But the resulting product weight shouldn't change. But, I wouldn't use much over equal parts to your hash.
I was also told that the oil might not fully decarb if I don't decarb first due to the fact that alcohol boils off at 180 and I will have a very small amount to cook off?? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Are you planning on eating it? I mean, better safe than sorry, so, yeah. Go for it. But do keep in mind that there will still be some heating going on, and there will be a noticeable difference depending on the heat source, longevity of time, etc.
Ahh ha sorry guys forgot to post results. Lol got 30 grams of very nice oil back. And yes it was decarbed with the cook and no ore cook. I'm doing another batch now with bubble hash this time same process. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
