Medicine In Illinois

Discussion in 'Marijuana Business and Industry' started by crafteasy76, Sep 7, 2014.

  1. Hey everyone, I am new to the site and would like to know a little about getting into the medical marijuana field in illinois. As most of u probably know, it wont be long before the people here in illinois will be able to get the medicine they need. I would just like to here from some people in areas where this industry is well established on some of the things required and the processes involved in becoming a part of this growing business. Thanks.

  2. Right now I'm gonna say it's almost not worth it in Illinois. Yes they passed medical, but the restrictions and regulations are outrageous.

The restrictions for the types of illnesses you must have to get a card apply to something like 30-50,000 people....in the entire state ( don't remember the exact figure)..Atleast that's what I've read a few places I could be wrong. And the number of licenses, outrageous fees, etc make it almost impossible. If you want to go the dispensary or cultivation route you'll need to have a couple million in the bank and there's plenty people ahead already who have sweet talked local politicians to help their chances of approval.

Something like edibles could be an OK route but again there's not many people who will initially have access to dispensaries and all that therefore less demand for your product.

To me, opening a hydro store is probably anyone's best bet as a lot of (smart) people decide to skip sub par, expensive dispensaries and grow their own.

  3. Unless you got a big bank roll there really is no chance.

Educating yourself about the medical uses of cannabis wouldn't hurt! Do you have a copy of "Granny Storm Crow's List"? If not, check out my sig and email me, or PM me your email address. Since you are new to GC, You likely don't know what I am talking about! :confused_2:

Here is a sample of what you can find in my List-  a small chunk from the breast cancer section. (1 out of every EIGHT women will get breast cancer during their lives- that is a totally unacceptable statistic! We are talking about your mothers, sisters, aunts, girlfriend/ wife and daughters! )

The breast cancer section goes on for about 7 pages, like that!

And please note that it is cannabidiol/ CBD that works the best against the aggressive "triple negative" breast cancer! THC is good for most cancers, but CBD works best on a few others! It is knowledge like that which will put you ahead of the rest of the 1000s of kids who want to work in the medical cannabis industry! :yay:

I look forward to hearing from you!

The due date for dispensary applications was just a couple of weeks ago, so it's still going to be a long process.   Here are some FAQ's about the Illinois program. https://www.allbud.com/learn/marijuana/illinois
