Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by chronixx24, Sep 4, 2014.

  1. Is it oke to use the perlite protection frames that they use to ship tv and stuff? I will grind this small and use if it dos no harm.

  2. Anyone?

  5. Well its fairly inert so it could do no harm. I have used it to float plants in an aquaponic set up.

It floats and may get a bit tricky to water in a small form. I dont see how it could hurt anything.

if its all you have then it will work as a filler material.

  6.
what do you plan on using it for?

Styrofoam and perlite are 2 very different things..

  7. Oke. Yeah its the only thing that i can get out here. Or i have to order it from the internet but that will be too expensive because will need allloottt. You think its better to crush hydroballs?

  8.
yeah or some crushed lava rock or something like that..

Styrofoam even more than perlite will just float to the top of your container..

  9. I mean hydroton. Crush them abit smaller and use it instat of the styrofoom

  10.
Thats not cheap, I just ordered $150 worth of hydroton with shipping.

  11. 45 liters of hydroton cost here 25$. I live on a island so shipping will get exspensive i think.
