Is it oke to use the perlite protection frames that they use to ship tv and stuff? I will grind this small and use if it dos no harm.

Well its fairly inert so it could do no harm. I have used it to float plants in an aquaponic set up. It floats and may get a bit tricky to water in a small form. I dont see how it could hurt anything. if its all you have then it will work as a filler material.

yeah or some crushed lava rock or something like that.. Styrofoam even more than perlite will just float to the top of your container..
