I Do Not Want To Waste My Life Anymore

  1. Hello grasscity,

I registered to these forums because I was curious as to your experiences with vaporizing as opposed to smoking weed with paper of whatever.

Okay, so i'm a 23 year old guy from the Netherlands and i've smoked kilos of weed and hasj since I was about 12. Had nice times but it also fucked up my motivation for just about everything. Including school, sports, helping my parents, housework, cleaning... anything.

I have been badly addicted to weed from the age of 16 to 19 and it ruined alot for me. Had to stop for a year which was a very productive and good year for me,  but started smoking up again about 2 and a half years ago,  albeit not as heavily as before; it still affected my life in negative ways. It makes me lazy as fuck, shy, awkward around others and it just makes me an idiot.

When i'm sober I am a very disciplined and diligent person.I'm also outgoing -not shy at all-  and I also have high energy at all times when sober and I engage in numerous productive activities on a daily basis ranging from study to sports to music. These being the reasons for me to have said goodbye to cannabis once and for all a few weeks ago and for the first time i'm succeeding very well. Haven't touched it, haven't desired it, in fact, and fortunately, i've come to despise it.

Anyway, my younger brother has some lung troubles now and again and told me how he found some articles on vaporizing. How it acts as an anti cancerous when vaped and not smoked and how it can clean the lungs from all sorts of crap (I myself too have accumulated enough crap in my lungs over the last 10 years from smoking).

This all sounds very appealing and I am willing to give it a test but before I buy an expensive vaporizer, I want to ask you people for your experiences with vaping compared to smoking it. I heard it doesn't make you a lazy shit head typical stoner guy so much as when you smoke it. You see this is what i'm afraid of.

in short, i wanna vaporize to cleanse my lungs but I dont really care for being high at all... is the high you get from vaping a clear one in which you can still perform or will it turn me into my old couchpotato stoner self which i now hate...?

    Thanks to anyone for reading

  2. lower leveled temp vaporizing sounds like your option. it is a more clearheaded high instead of the "couch lock". if you do vape on high settings or higher levels, you will still get the same couch locked feeling. id reccomend picking up a solo and using it on temps 3-4 with the stem.

  3. If you don't enjoy being high at all, then unfortunately cannabis isn't for you. Even low thc strains will still give you a noticeable high. And don't blame all of your problems on the plant, man up and take responsibility for your own actions.

I'm not completely understanding what you're asking. You want to clean your lungs by vaping, but at the same time, you don't want to get high? Is this correct?

If it is, I really would just suggest not doing it period. If you don't want to waste your life, then don't.

Your body can naturally clean itself, albeit, not as squeaky clean as a virgin-lung might be... but enough to hardly notice a difference. Personally, I'd rather let my body do the work since it's a straight forward method. Vaping to clean your lungs kind of sounds like an old wives tale.

You sound like someone who wants  to quit, not switch delivery systems.    Why not try doing without for a while and see if you begin to feel more energy and start to like yourself again.

  6. Lay off the pipe broseph.

  7. Why would you spend $150+ on a vape if you want to quit? The logic doesn't flow...  I think you should straighten your life out first then when everything is settled get back to the herb.

  8. So I believe what you're asking is if vaping will give you the medical benefits of marijuana without the high.

The short answer is no. (Unless you have a 'fully'/MOSTLY CBD strain of marijuana (i.e Charlottes Web).

You are getting medical ADVANTAGES by using the vaporizer as opposed to smoking a blunt wrap or even glass. The low temperature on the vaporizer allows the trichomes to release THC and other cannabinoids and hardly any of the carcinogens that you'd come across during combustion. But yeah, you're still getting that THC so you will get high. And if ya don't like that, then don't bother spending the $200 it will cost to get a reliable desktop/portable vape.

HOWEVER, if you have a change of mind about everything and decide to smoke, I "highly" recommend the Pax Vaporizer by Ploom.  Flower only vape, 3 heat settings, convection heat, no combustion, stealthy and sleek. Comes with a 10 year manufacturer warranty when you buy it from the website directly or "www.vapeworld.com" I suggest vapeworld only because you also get a free grinder with the purchase of any vaporizer.

    But yeeep, that's it.  :bongin:

  9.
Pax by Ploom uses Conduction heat.  What is this an advertisement?

  10. Is the Netherlands as awesome as it seems?

  11. I'm sorry you are correct. And no. hahaha. I love my pax though. I've had plenty of vaporizers, always recommend that though.

  12. \t3. CANNABISThe toxic breakdown of therapeutic compounds in cannabis from burning the plant are totally avoided with vaporization. Extraction and inhaling cannabinoid essential oils of the unprocessed plant affords significant mitigation of irritation to the oral cavity that comes from smoking. Cannabis is perhaps one of the most effective anti-cancer plants in the world shown in study after study to stimulate cannabinoid receptor activation in specific genes and mediate the anti-invasive effect of cannabinoids. Vaporizing cannabis allows the active ingredients to stimulate the body's natural immune response and significantly reduces the ability of infections to spread. Vaporizing cannabis (especially with very high amounts of cannabinoids) opens up airways and sinuses, acting as a bronchodilator. It is even a proven method to treat and reverse asthma.
    that's why...

  13. Tl;dr....join the army or something

  14. k? says nothing about not getting you high

  15.
    Ok....

You're making absolutely NO SENSE whatsoever. I don't mean to be abrasive, but you don't really care for being high at all yet you want to vaporize. The high you get from vaporizing is still a high. If you don't care for it, and you've come to despise cannabis having the experiences you've had, I'm still really puzzled why you want to come back to it. That's a characteristic of addiction... you want to quit but you can't, and even though you despise it, you're still wanting to dabble around with it.

I just don't get it. If you want to clean out your lungs and avoid being a couch potato, then don't vape. As stated before, you're logic doesn't flow and you've basically confused the crap out of everyone. Bottom line, if you want clean out your lungs and you don't like being high.... quit.

  16.
    ?

I dont care about getting high i care for the medical benefits. why is this so hard to grasp? lol

  17. The medical benefits are the whole plant they work together.
U need all of the chemicals together thc is a big part.
I'd suggest give up cannabis and take a paracetamol.

not alot of people know that I don't know that, but I bloody well don't!

  18.
Because most people that want the medical benefits and NOT get high find a different way to get the meds, which is possible. Vaporizing however is not the way to get those benefits.

OP could try a CBD tincture or help oil based product.  He could then get the benefits of CBD without the THC high.  Not sure if that's gonna clear his lungs though.

Vaping would be the option for someone who likes the effects of cannabis but wants a safer delivery system than smoking.  That does not seem to be the profile of the OP who went out of his way to say he despises weed and his former couch potato self.

  20.
What i'm saying is; if the high of a vaporizer isnt the same as if you would smoke it with tobacco, i would want to do it, considering all the health benefits vaporizing cannabis brings (INCLUDING ANTI-CANCEROUS QUALITIES)
