Okay so everyone uses rubbing alcohol to clean their glass. Some add salt for more cleaning power. I've always done this and it worked great with no problem. However, I recently bought my first expensive piece of glass and the guy at the headshop tried to sell me some specialcleaner and told me rubbing alcohol will damage my percs and eventually cause them to break? Has this ever happened to anyone? Or have you even heard of it happening? I feel like he's just trying to make a sale but I'm curious now. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
That guy is just trying to make a sale. Glass is inert. Remember that chemist use Boro to store lots of very strong solutions including hydrochloric acid, boric acid, etc. A little rubbing alcohol will in no way shape or form hurt your piece.
nah sounds like hes jjust trying to make some additional commission, stick to your alcohol and iso, no worries.
I don't think it would do anything to acrylic either to be honest. Look at the cheap ass plastic bottles iso comes in. They do a fine job of storing iso for years without it affecting the plastic. The head shop guy is most certainly full of shit.
Either the guy is stupid or is lying to make a sale. 99% ISO and rock salt all the way all day everyday. Omega369
