Family Member Caught With Drugs Now Im Not Allowed To Toke

Discussion in 'General' started by Wakebakeskate, Sep 2, 2014.

  1. I'm 19 and have been smoking daily for about 4 months
I live with my family and step brother

2 months ago my step brother was caught with a fairly large amount drugs on his way to a festival (weed was not one of those drugs).

As soon as this happened my parents banned all drugs from the house including weed (in case we ever get raided).

As an avid smoker and supporter of the wonderful weed, this obviously pissed me right off as I feel like I'm living in a fascist household all of a sudden! Why should I have to suffer because of the actions of someone else?

I made this thread today because my dad is coming back from a work trip in a couple of days and he wants to have a talk (it will be about weed), and I want my argument to be strong and well thought out so I would appreciate any and all suggestions. I also would love to hear from anyone who has been in this position because I haven't been able to find anything on the net relating to this situation.

    Fascist household.. lol

  3. i have a suggestion..

    tell them ok..

and keep smoking weed and don't get caught.

    it's not rocket science.

  4.

There's a fascist household going on here, would you have told the Jews to just tell Hitler they aren't Jewish anymore?

  5. Lol

    Rainbow family :)

  6. I know you're asking them to see it from your perspective and understand, but how can they do that when you don't try to understand it from their perspective. And I mean really understand.

  7. @[member="АugustWest"] Thank you for your suggestion but I'm looking for something with a little bit more depth. That's what I'll be doing if I can't find any better answers

@[member="IvGotMilk"] Thank you for that but I see it from their perspective already and I counteract it with this: It's my body I'll put what I want in it at my own free will if I so please, why should I have to suffer from someone elses mistakes?

Also I would take full responsibility if we were to be raided and weed was found in my room.

  9. You live under their house. Either agree with their rules or move out.

    Come on, kid.

  10. I seriously doubt you're going to get raided because someone got busted with drugs. Maybe if they suspected someone was dealing out of the house but they would have to get enough evidence to get a warrant granted to them first.

  11. @[member="Honey Badger"] So as a member of the house and an adult does that grant me no fair trial?

  12. Nope. Their house, their rules.

Unless you paid for the house and own it.

  13. @[member="Un®3al Divinity™"] Well the amount of drugs was around 40 (pills), do you still think that wouldn't promote a raid? If not I need a way to be able to explain this to my parents and have them believe me

  14. @[member="Omega369"] Hmm I think I will continue to smoke and not get caught if the argument isn't won but thanks anyway

  15. Are you paying the mortgage? Are you paying any of the house bills? Paying for food?
If no then sorry you don't really have a say in this. Save your money, move out, do what you want.

  17. Cool. So what's the point of your thread? It's pretty simple man it's their house their rules. if you don't agree with it then move out.
I don't really understand what answers you're looking for here. Whatever you say to your dad isn't going to change his mind. If it did I'd be shocked, so just accept it and smoke secretly or move out.

  18. You're 19 lol you're not an adult.

Well maybe. Do you pay rent? Help out around and outside the house? Have a steady paying job? are you going to college instead? Are you or are they paying for college?

If your living rent free, it's their rules and you don't deserve a fair trail. Lol it's not a democracy, it's a loving dictatorship.

I actually do help out around the house and go to university full time! Currently underemployed working one shift a week cause the job rate for my age where I live sucks! And on top of this still paying for a lot of the food I eat

I think this alone grants me some rights

Also in Australia, 19 is considered an adult just to be clear

I didn't just make the article for that reason, I actually really wanted to hear if anyone had been in a similar situation too because I couldn't find anything on the internet.
