Upstatenewbs First Journal 2Kw Soil

This is my first grow journal on gc. I had started a thread in grow room design but it became kind of a journal so I figured it would be better to post some more specifics and commit to an actual journal. My intentions are to do a perpetual grow but it didn't work out that way so until I can get my system down I'm going to run through this with what I've got.

I'm growing in 50:50 happyfrog soil/ promix which seems to be working out very well. The grow started with some nasty box store soil which I scrapped and switched over, after a nasty fungus gnat problem. I'm using flora nova grow/bloom series and I will probably add some additional nutes as needed. For my mothers I've been feeding 1000 ppm every fourth water with positive results.

Clones are rooted in 1.5" rock wool cubes ph to 5.5 with olivas gel in a propagation dome with a heat mat. I mist the clones as needed and have had thus far 10 for 11 root and survive, I did add a drop of superthrive for good measure, when I soaked my cubes.

I have separate veg and flower rooms set up and that can be seen in the link above along with pictures of the progress up until now. I have only turned on one of the 1000s, in two weeks I'll flip the second.

Flowering plant are only 7 days at 12:12 so I haven't really started with the gh bloom yet but I intend to follow a similar schedule as the veg side say 1000ppm every 4th water or as needed.

The grow started with 4 white rhino mothers but I inherited a friends work as he packed up and moved on. He left me with 10 very sick and mite infested clones of three different strains, blue acid, og kush and lemon something or other, with the help of the forums I brought the plants back to life and pretty much got the mites under control, that is a continual process but I'm confident to say it's pretty much resolved. This grow is focused on those three strains any clones I've taken are from the white rhino which will eventually turn into a separate perpetual journal, but for the purposes of showing my process thus far I have included it in this journal.

Yeah, it's a big space, when I flip the second light on in 2 weeks or so it will start to fill up. In regards to purchasing seeds, yeah I've been looking for the perfect strain to suit my taste, in terms of flowering time and potency, and most importantly to me the looks just because I'm jealous of all the insane bud shots other blades post. I'd also like to order a mars 2 1200 watt led in the near future and eventually run flood tables but you have to play the hand you are dealt so to speak!

So far I'm really enjoying what I've got going. Do you have any seed suggestions?

 

Things are moving along.... Probably won't update for a few days but here's my girls as of today. Topped the clones and felt like a sick torturous devil.

Been over a week since my last update, topped clones look great, new clones have rootiS popping, mothers are healthy and the flower room is getting NICE

 

So it was getting crowded under the single 1k so I turned on the second and gave the girls some room. I also finally got some lights off pics, enjoy

 

So at 26 days into flower everything is looking good, 4 of the girls (the only four of this strain) are already starting to have the large fans turning yellow, it's strange and I'm assuming strain related because the rest of the plants haven't started that yet. I'm not overly concerned and I think it's normal.

I wish I would have been more aggressive in the past topping plants because the results are just amazing to me. The ten plants in veg now are going into the flower room in a week and 12/15 clones have popped roots and have been put Into solo cups,

I'm going to pull the nicest two for new mothers and cycle my current mothers through just for fun. I need two more lights. I'm thinking mars 2's

Humidity is rising a lot at night so I've been letting my intake and exhaust fans run nonstop, still around 40-50 throughout the day, I'll probably run a dehumidifier in a week or two. Anyway I'm pretty stoked . Thanks for the sub also!

 

So I pulled the trigger and ordered a mars 2 1200, just to try it out. I plan to put the next round of clones under it to flower

 

Mars 2 will be here on Tuesday. Until then my room is crammed, I've been tying up everything as the flowers grow and am also trying some tomatoes cages on the 10 white rhinos I recently introduced into flower....... I also flushed all the plants which took a fair amount of time and water. Here are some pictures....

 

Mars 2 was not delivered today, ups left a note saying a signature was required. What a bummer.

 

Mars 2 is here, pretty solid light, haven't had a chance to get it up and running but it looks pretty snazzy

 

Mars 2 is running, seems awesome, solid and not effecting temps at all. I've been running a dehumidifier and I'm at about 30% I'm getting anxious to cut these girls but only at fifty days and no amber trichomes yet, mostly cloudy still some clear . Pics are lacking today but I'm pretty busy. This is a lot of work!

 

So I feel bad I didn't take any pictures, but the 11 original girls were chopped, trimmed and hung 5 days ago, it was laborious and actually quite tedious, I didn't think It would be so hard but it was my least favorite part. That said.... After hanging for 5 days, I felt they were ready to be clipped off the stalks and jared up for curing. With very very sticky fingers and gummed up fiskars, I jared damn near 500 grams, and had another 100 grams of small popcorn to go to in my honey bee extractor, that doesn't include the incredible amount of sugar leafs that I saved for the same purpose. In the end, I had 17 big mason jars 16 of which had 30 grams and the 17th had 19grams. I'm pretty happy with the results im still far below 1gpw. I'll post some bud shots when I got some free time. Stuff looks amazing, white rhino was the most dense, with the lemon kush being much bigger but far less dense. All In all I'm a happy camper

 

Just an update, the bho I made from the popcorn/trim was amazing..... So much so that I think I may start just growing oil plants... I ordered a 3 gal vacuum chamber and all the fixings for the next round, I plan to get at least 50 grams of oil from my next run of trim/popcorn..... I have almost 1/2lb waiting to run, I'm excited and anxious!
