Bong, Pipe, Joint, Vaporizer Efficiency And Uses.

  1. Hello GC!!! If you want to know what type of smoking piece to use for what time and which ones are most efficient then you came to the right place! I will be discussing efficiency of devices and which devices are best for which situations based off of years of personal experience and observations. IMPORTANT- I am fully aware that NORML did tests on bong, joint, and vaporizer efficiency but it seems like bullcrap. I don't care what Gieringer with his ph.d. and "high-tech lab" has to say. I simply want to share what I have learned from experience. WARNING- I don't leave out details.

    Bongs- Bongs are great for when you want to get as high as possible without using edibles. Because you can take so much smoke at once, you get a lot higher than with pipes, bubblers, joints, or vaporizers. However, because you usually take fewer hits with a bong that are much bigger, the highs do not last as long. For this reason, they may not be great for groups of people because the bowls go fast. Depending on your body and tolerance, the peak of the high will usually last around 20min-1hr. Bongs make you a lot more tired when the high is over. Be warned though, bongs can skyrocket your tolerance, switch up your methods!!! Also, there's a lot of people out there who say "bongs eat up your weed". Now I'm assuming this is coming from people who either scorch the whole bowl with their flame or torch, don't pack their bowls tight enough, or people who smoke as soon as they aren't high anymore. As long as you pack and smoke your bowls correctly (I'll discuss later how to do that) and understand bong highs are generally stronger but shorter in duration, then they don't eat up your weed. I'd say this is in 3rd place efficiency wise. Gieringer says that more thc is filtered in the bong than toxins. Gieringer also says that joints transfer more thc to the user than bongs, bubblers, and even vaporizers  :confused:  and yes, that's taking into account all the smoke wasted in the air... so idk how to take him seriously.

    Joints- If there's anything I can say about joints it is how wasteful they are. Don't get me wrong I love my joints for the outdoors or for hands-free activities but they are the worst method for conserving your weed. I recommend joints for the outdoors so you don't have to constantly fight the wind, They can be great for sharing, and are also good for hands-free activities and you can pre-roll a bunch and stick them in a case. It is better to roll fat joints than it is to roll skinny joints because it will burn at a lower temperature meaning better efficiency . They should be tight but not too tight that you can't get good hits out of it (imo that's an awful joint). So much smoke from a joint gets lost in the air it is ridiculous. If you get .5 grams and smoke it in a joint, you will not be nearly as high as you would be if you smoked that same amount in a pipe or bong. Even if you take small joint-like hits from your pipe you will get much higher for longer. A great method for getting the wind high.

    Pipes- This is probably the second most efficient method of all. Very simply to use, you just put the weed in the bowl and smoke it  :hello: . They are very portable and deliver moderate-strong highs that last a good amount of time. However, the smoke is harsher with a pipe. Get over it! Anyways, a good all-purpose method that you can't go wrong with.

    Vaporizers- This is by far the most efficient method out there. They are the healthiest way to use cannabis besides cooking with it. Vaporizers taste better than any other smoking method, the flavor is just AWESOME! :yummy:  You can get a very intense high from a very small amount. Depending on the vaporizer, You can turn the temperature low and get a lot of smaller hits to get lighter highs and save more, or you can turn the temperature up and get bigger hits and very strong highs while still saving a lot more than you would if you were smoking. It's important to have a grinder with vapes, the finer the grind the bigger and more efficient the hits will be. There are many different vapes out there so you need to do your research and make sure you are getting the right one for yourself. I recommend a simple, cheap "box" vaporizer for your first one. http://vapenow.com/images/vaporcannon.JPG You can adjust the temperature, pack a lot, and they are very efficient. Just tilt the box so the heating element is facing downward so your weed doesn't fall on it. The glass part collects vaporizer resin which is the strongest stuff I've ever smoked! I also recommend cutting the tube so the vapor doesn't need to travel through so much tubing. I know everybody raves about the volcano but not everyone wants to spend hundreds of dollars when they could spend $50.I do NOT recommend a vaporizer 'pen'. I got the Atmos Raw RX vaporizer pen and it was the worst piece of garbage I have ever smoked out of. Maybe there are other good pens out there but don't get the Atmos.

    Smoking bowls Efficiently- It is simple and extremely worth it yet nobody does it. Idk why, tell me if you know why. This is how you light it, put flame on smallest amount of the bowl possible until a little bit is lit, that cherry will light the rest on its own. You don't need to cover every millimeter of weed with flame, not even half the bowl, not even a quarter of the bowl. You will save a lot of weed if you do this and get higher. And lets not forget kids, you must inhale the smoke and hold it for at least 3 seconds if you want to absorb all the thc. Studies show that your lungs absorb up to 95% thc in a few seconds (meaning 3+ seconds). Usually 5 second human count= 3 real seconds. You want to hold the hits longer if you are taking huge bong hits or big pipe hits. Personally I do 3-5 for joints, 5-7 pipes and 5-9 bongs. It might be unnecessary to go past 5 seconds though, but i like to :metal:  And vaporizers don't have nearly as many toxins in the vapor so don't be afraid to hold vapor as long as you please. Please do not comment about the lighting bowls or holding hits unless you have questions about it. If you disagree just keep it to yourself please, studies and personal experience show that these methods are the best way to go.
