  1. Is this a good fan to use inside? I got it out of another pc.

  2. How big is that fan? And how big is your space? I'm sure the fan will work, but depending on your space and if you will use a carbon filter you may need a bigger fan, or just more than 1

  3. \tFan is 12V 2.6A 137x94x33mm 5PIN Ball Barring. My PC is 14 1/2 in

Well 2.6A is a lot for a pc fan, but the dimensions are a little bit small.
I think it must be enough because you have a small case, but test it before you start just to be sure.  :smoke:

wow that seems like a super beefy fan @ 2.6A  .. don't chop yer finger off lol.  I think the pc fans I used to cool my pc are only .15A (150mA)

  6. lol so which should i use it for; the intake or the exhaust. ill probably find another fan from another computer to pair with this one

  7. you shouldn't need an intake fan. Just run that for your exhaust and build a passive intake 2x the size of the exhaust. The negative pressure created will suck fresh air in naturally from the passive intake.

    Is it loud?

  8. Idk yet I just snatched it out of a junk pc

  9. Just use a passive air intake, the exhaust will draw in fresh air via negative pressure. That's a beefy ass fan, I run 9 5" PC fans and they are only .10A, so that should be enough for a small PC build

a passive air intake is a fancy word for a hole.

  12. Essentially it could be a small hole, but I think even without a small hole it would still draw in fresh air from all the cracks and tiny spaces. The negative air pressure from the exhaust fan draws in the fresh air through any openings in the cab quite well

  13. yep, pc's aren't very airtight....you should be able to tell the level of the neg pressure when you put the cover on....if it sucks shut real hard you might have too much neg pressure...or it you hear the fans change sounds. Sometimes I use the smoke from some incense to check how hard the air is blowing...like at what distance from the exhaust will the air flow affect the stream of smoke....it's kind of a ghetto way to check cfms.

  14. Its just a hole to "suck" the air vacuum, because hot air goes up.

I see most people growing 1 or 2 plants in a pc case, I think autoflowers are a good choice for the limited space in a pc.
You can also remove the rivets from the cd drive without a drill, more information here: http://www.wikihow.com/Remove-Rivets

  17. one time I didn't have a drill and I hand grinded the rivets out with a phillips screw driver. It was much easier then I thought. :p

  18. Go to acinfinity.com for PC sized fans that plug into wall sockets. That's what I use. Even comes with screen filters and a control speed knob

  19. Yeah like valeroo mentioned the speed control will be quite handy or you could get a fan controller also if you are running more than one fan. You could also get a molex power supply to power the fan controller which I have in my grow case, can't help but thank Bongsauce for suggesting that for me. :)
