Autojack and the Northern Lights Triplets - My First Grow w/T5 Lighting

Hey guys, so basically I've been looking high and low for a forum.
Not just any forum. One to join me on me in my next 60 days for seed to harvest with the beautiful Feminized Grapefruit Kush( seeds for VSB) supposedly autoflo by nature
and also a nice healthy clone from the female in the entry picture that died from nute problems and gnats Got loads of plant porn coming your way! Like I said its my "first grow". By that I mean its my first grow done right!.. affordably in my eyes anyways. Its for my friends dad who has bad glaucoma and is blind in that he can only see shadow, blurry, shapes. He gets some good medicinal stuff but he wants to add a plant or two to his storage room. Very excited about this and just planted the G. Kush on august. 27. and the clone is just over 2 weeks from rooting transplant.

So this is the clone from a pre sexing mother who was 10 weeks old.


The mother ran into some nute (N) problems and fungus gnats because of some fruit  in the house on a weekend left alone. And sooo I took 12 clones from her. I had some rooting gel and while they say the healthier hormones are at the bottom of the plant, the bottoms leaves were all dying and later I found out the roots were too cause it was infested. So the healthiest 2 clones came from higher on the plant and here are pics comparing the quality of the two.

You can guess which one was used . Its 10 days from when I cut it for cloning. I used some cloning gel and put it in a soilless organic seed starting mix called Prop Mix. Very good looking soil im excited about it but we will get into nutes later

 

Next I will talk about my low budget set up. It is welcome to criticism ! Its nothing special. Firstly, two plastic tubs lined with emergency blanket aka Mylar (very shiny). I have a socket from floodlight hooked to the top. I wish it was a dual socket, but it keeps it from getting too hot and its plenty of light.

\nThis is it when its fully put together^^^^ But that's not until I need that room. So I have a lid on half and am running every close to the light right now like so.

\nI have this 10$ fan blowing up/across. some yeast/water/sugar mixture (which gets blown around with the lid caped. The clone is fine without it (yeast) im just getting in the flow/habit. I got my freshly planted Grapefruit Kush in the bag planter beside planted Augusts 28, 2014. theres also a Scooby-do chia pet + some shitty clone that I was messing with from the first picks in a pill bottle with drainage. I was looking into a possible tiny plant grow for shits and giggles

Heres some pics of the clone today! Shes growing real nice. Its my first clone so I wasn't sure where it was going to take off from (never saw a forum with pics of this). But as you can see it just started growing like it did before it was cut. See the new node?
 
 
The planted female Grapefruit kush seed saw light today! ill get a pic of it a little later. Nothing too exciting.... JK yes it is!

 

I used some stuff I found at home depot called Roots Liquid Root stimulator with fungicide , Made by Wilson. My original plan was to clone  without stimulator just as a science experiment . But found it a day before I killed her. Worked really well as you can see.

 

 It was my lack of knowledge that led to the problem. I knew nothing about soil, nutes, non of that . I was watering the mother from the top, and too much/often. The soil was shit, I use a soilless mixture now. And well they smelled my yeast CO2 and found her when I was away for a few days (woops). So now she has been relocated and I shouldn't run into a problem with them again. I got these sticky things called "Sticky Sticks" which are sticky flower looking things for fungus gnats. Ill take a pic in a bit to show you. you might have seen them before. I also have some fungicide which is sulfur based I think just in case

 

Thanks man.! By no mean will this grow be super height yielding or anything special. With one goal in mind I hope to have some delicious, potent, smooth smoke in 60 days. Hey do you know anything about LSTing? I want to start my clone but don't know if its too soon.

 

Have you ever done LST with a plant that's autoflower by nature? I heard stressing these plants are bad, could term them hermy? The clone isn't an autoflow and will def be LSTing her. but the genetics of the Grapefruit Kush is supposed to be short im thinking I should just let it be. Poor clone... stupid sticky stick stuck to its leaf and I ripped a piece of leave off. owell it will be ok. gonna put up a pick of the seed sprout right away. Theres just something beautiful about a popping seed

Flowering: Indoor: 50 days
Outdoor: Oct. 5

Genetics: Grapefruit Indica, Afghani Kush.
Structure: Short, classic single cola.​

Clone is on day 18 from being cut. Nothing new but guessing by the genetics of the G. Kush it will prob be done before the clone or at the same time, who knows?​

So I imagine I can flip the switch on them together if it happens that way. 12/12​

But that's a long long time away

Have you ever grown an autoflower?

 

Does anybody know if I can use this soil for my entire grow?

I love how it breaths and the roots love it. It has lime in it but I heard I can run into PH problems?
anybody have any suggestions. Also can I start feeding my clone nutes or is she fine in this soil for now?
