So I decided to grow weed in the trunk of my car.. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Sent from my iPad using Grasscity Forum
Just make sure you get a guard cat for protection! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WLqJLYFR0w&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Lol what is this I can't 1: where's the electricity coming from? 2:smell!?!? 3:if It works out you're gonna get like a half ounce of moldy buds Mmmm fresh nuggets sitting in a humid and hot trunk 24/7. Gotta love it
I once saw a grow many years ago that involved hid headlights and a 12 volt car battery. It was an hid carheadlight vs cfl challenge. Grower went outta town for the weekend, came back and his plants from the hid had grown into the light n cooked, thus ending the experiment...but damn did they grow. Just have to get the proper spectrum. Edit: Here it is lol http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-lighting/178617-automotive-hid-lights-vs-cfls.html
Honestly, that is the stupidest idea I have ever heard of. Nothing personal towards you but it is just a matter of time before you get caught. All you need is one broken tail light and you can hang up those boots.
I have done this with 55 watt HID kits. 3000K yellow foglight HID for flower and 6500k white/blue for veg. They actually grow weed well and the canopy penetration is excellent. Very intense/focused light. You just need to keep the bulb horizontal too keep from burning out prematurely and hook up a beer can reflector to get the most out of it.
Wow man, that is seriously awesome! I wish you would have made a journal, im thinking about rigging one of these up now fr the hell of it. The downside is the 12v battery, but if you have two batteries, and youre somewhere with solar panels, with this setup you can have the best of both worlds, ie, low power consumption, hid penetration. Charge one battery all day, use one all night. Surprised nobody has run with this idea aft 5 years. It could work, even in a hut somewhere lol
Great minds think alike dude. I used a high amperage power supply. I was able to run 4 55w kits with individual ballasts off one supply. Got it for $45 at Fry's Electronics. The space was pretty micro though. It was 2x2x2 foot. Temps were easily manageable similar to CFLs. I was getting pretty good density from top to bottom and the aromas very quite nice. I yielded about 2 ounces from 3 autoflowers. Not too bad. I agree with you 100%. If people were to experiment with these little lights, they would see this as perfectly acceptable growing solution. Too many people these days reading the "he said/she said this works/doesn't work" or "i read this thread and this is how you do it". STFU, grow and learn for yourself what works. /rant
Bro, we're gonna have to get our shit together and get a journal set up where we document our progress and do another one of these grows. Would help a lot of poor people get ahead. You think you can find any links on frys to what you were talkin out? Theres none in central cali, but a few hours south. If i had a link i could start building a parts list, get a thread started and start saving and buying parts n junk. Sounds fun. Edit: when i was lookin years ago i found most everything on ebay in kits iirc
i dont think the problems if it can be done or not, get a van, beef up the power, and grow nugs in the back not that difficult or outlandish. The problem with the idea is that you are driving around with a grow op in your trunk of your daily driver. This is just asking to eventually run into legal problems, you might be able to get away with it but that doesnt mean its a good idea. To each is his own i just see this being a huge risk that makes it imho not worth it. I am not sure what the law states but if you get caught i wouldnt be surprised if your car is impounded and held for evidence so id keep that in mind too, can you be without your ride ?
Certainly possible. But as everybody else mentioned all it takes is one minor traffic infraction or even a dui checkpoint for them to smell your plants when you roll your window down. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
you know, I've seen some terrible ideas on this website over the years, but this might be the worst one yet.
