How Much Cbd Rso Oil Can One Purchase In Ca In One Visit?

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by npc3, Aug 29, 2014.

  1. I am traveling to CA to get CBD oil at a dispensary with the proper credentials (IDs and recommendation). I have a chronic illness not helped by traditional medicine and hopeful the CBD oil can cure me. Anyway, how much oil can one person purchase in a dispensary on one visit? I thought I read 8 oz of bud but the CA law did not say anything about oil??  The full treatment is a 60 gram dose.

  2. You can definitely buy sixty grams at once. Dispensaries apply the 8 oz limit for bud to concentrates (whether or not legally).

  3. yeah you should be able to get what you need. hope you dont have to pay a super large amount. if so, I could possibly find you some good RSO for a donation fit for a patient.

  4. I'm fairly sure if you walked in with a stack of cash, they'd sell as much as they could.

no one is going to say, you're giving me too much money.

  5. Well one place in San Jose told me $1500 for 60 g but I am not sure what the strain is or what strain I need to look for.

I do not want a high feeling or a drowsy/tired feeling, just want medication I can function with (drive, work, not get the munchies). I prefer oil.  Anyone have any recommendations for the San Jose area? When I look on leafly.com it's overwhelming, all I see is cool names of strains offered at various dispensaries but not much else info to go on.  I'm confused on what to look for....  I am not familiar with any of this, lol. Never even smoked weed before!

  6.
The best RSO I've ever had was the Hash Oil from Amsterdam's Garden in San Jose. The price was what you were quoted ($750/30 grams) so maybe that's where you're looking. This Hash Oil (it is actually RSO) is very strong (can make you feel high), but not particularly sedating. (By contrast, the oil from marijuana2go is more sedating, but will also make you feel high.) The Hash Oil is a full plant extract with extremely high cannibinoid contents (including @ 92% THC). Although the Hash Oil is strong, you can avoid feeling high by only taking it at night for a month or two. Thereafter, you will have enough tolerance to comfortably medicate during the day. If I needed oil for a serious illness, there is no question that Amsterdam's Garden's Hash Oil would be my first choice.

  7. Do you have the luxury of time to buy a syringe and take a dose or two to see if it helps before you buy 60 grams worth?

  8. Thanks for the replies and info. I am really at witts end with my health. I have a brain tumor (not cancer) that secretes all sorts of hormones and has ruined my life. No traditional or alternative medicine up to this point has really made an impact on it.  Doctors recommend surgery that can leave me even more messed up and I'm not willing to take that route.

Unfortunately I don't have too much time to stick around sampling oils. I actually take the industrial hemp CBD oil now and believe it or not it provides some relief of symptoms and even gives me a very tired drowsy feeling if I take too much! Plus it decreases my appetite so I appreciate that for weight loss. I have even taken it and felt "high" laughing, in a super happy mood but it only lasted about an hour.  I know I am a light weight. The problem with the CBD oil from industrial hemp is it's too damn expensive to do a treatment and obviously does not contain all the healing properties that the real oil has . The suggestion of taking at night sounds like it will be key for me to build tolerance.

Yes, it was amseterdams garden that I got a quote from for $1500.

  9. Let me ask another question, I have family in san diego, once I get my california ID is it possible to order oil from the dispensary online and have it delivered or mailed to san diego? Is that something that is legal in CA (mailing it in state)?

There are some overnight dispensaries, yes, and if you register with that address initially, and send your rec and everything in, there shouldn't be an issue until you need to renew, but just for the overnights. Many of the same day delivery places will still require you to be there, but they may let you designate a caregiver. If it's same day though, someone else in the house might want to just get a rec. Easier that way.

Not many of the overnights HAVE RSO, though.

And you are certain that this place said it was CBD oil? Because CBDs shouldn't make you "stoned" or laughing...peaceful and possibly tired, yes (any cannabinoid response can lead to sleepiness, which is our natural response to 'ok it's time to heal' from the body) Especially that stuff from Amazon. It has very little in it (though clearly enough that you find some relief, yea!! - just imagine the real stuff!)

If it's the hash oil that was spoken about earlier... that's a big difference, but one you may actually also need to deal with your issues. CBD is not the answer, alone, for many ailments. It's the synergy of this plant that makes it so effective. Not that I'm saying you don't want CBD... just be open to a ratio of part CBD and part THC :D

and yeah, I dont know any dispensary that won't take 15 large from ya if it's technically weighing less than 8 oz

  11.
I had never heard of this place before -they ship across the US?

    Yes!

  13. Whole plant cannabis extracts have terpenes (aromatic oil resins), flavonoids (antioxidants) and a wide range of cannabinoids. All of these combine for a full complex of medicinal benefit.

CBD oil is ONE cannabinoid, every thing else excluded. The Sellers online who advertise CBD oil for shipping across state lines are using INDUSTRIAL HEMP - typically using the leftover byproduct from Chinas huge hemp industry. The sourcing is dubious and most importantly this is only a single compound extract - see my signature for why that is a huge issue for those in medical need.

When you get a medicinal card, you can buy the flowers or whole plant extracts of cannabis from the dispensary.

RSO is only as anecdotally effective as it has been, due to being a whole plant extract.

Medicating with CBD only oil is almost a misnomer. Remember, 1/421.

What exactly are you looking to accomplish? Mitigating discomfort? Pain relief? Hormone regulation?

NORML.ORG has a wonderful library section and great information on the endocannabinoid system. Due to our internal framework which is truly laced with cannabinoid receptors, they act on nearly all major biological systems such as the immune system and so on. It is a lipid based modulatory system, beneficially regulating both "too much" and "too little" .

So, relating the glandular network (hormones) is feasible. But is maximally accomplished with whole plant extracts. Not CBD only.

And immune system integrity, with optimum targeting functionality, is involved with identifying and eliminating tumors.

Interestingly enough, i believe it is the Stanley brothers in Co (of Charlottes Web) who are looking into growing industrial hemp here to make CBD oil, to be shipped across state lines. We can grow hemp commercially here and i am a huge advocate. 25000 + uses.

But instead of making Charlottes Web from cannabis, which must be grown indoors and private, they're just going to grow fields of hemp. It just has to be less than .03 THC to qualify as hemp. If they can get the CBD high enough, they have CBD oil. And it wouldn't be sourced from China then. American dollars now.

But notoriously hemp cannot produce as much cannabinoids by weight as cannabis so you'd have to grow much much more. It'll be exciting to see test results.

It's also going to really shake up the legalities. Cannabis is on CSA drug schedule, hemp can be flown across state lines as non medical product. That's why CBD oil manufacturers of hemp CBD cannot make health claims.

But the feds etc are assessing where the line should be drawn. If CBD oil is seen to have medical benefit - the pharmaceuticals getting involved now - then the CBD from industrial hemp will be classified as a drug to control it.

The FDA FTC acting on behalf of a trillion dollar medical complex does not permit people growing fields of drugs to be shipped across state lines. But this was always one of my most looked forward to moments of legalization. As it's increasingly realized the full potential implications of hemp and cannabis, large aspects of our medical, agricultural and legislative framework will be evolved. Lots of opportunistic change occurring.

Best of luck, hope you find what you need.

  14. Thanks for the fantastic information I genuinely appreciate it.. I have Cushings disease so will be using the hash oil to regulate my hormones (my brain tumor causes an excess secretion of steriod hormone called cortisol which puts all my other hormones out of whack causing a slew of symptoms). I have not found any cushings cases treated with hash oil but did find studies that it binds to the receptors on the brain tumor causing cushings.  So if it can kill brain cancer I don't think it's such a far stretch to kill a non-cancerous tumor.  I am very hopeful it will work or at least let me live with less symptoms.  The industrial hemp derived CBD oil I do feel working but to take a gram a day would be close to $200/day! Plus, like you said it's no where near the real thing so I am very excited to get the actual cannabis oil and do the treatment.
