Whats More Economical? Flowers, Wax, Oil...?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by orbweaver, Aug 29, 2014.

  1. The only thing I'm really familiar with is smoking/vaping buds. My dispensary carries oils (and vape pens) and wax. What's the most economical way to do this? I was going to get a Da Buddha for vaping buds, should I just get an oil pen?

An 1/8 of flower from my local dispensaries averages me anywhere between 35-60. A vape cartridge is 30. Ice hash is 25 a gram.

    I'm so confused, lol.

  2. $20 worth of flowers lasts me about a day or two.
$20 worth of wax almost lasts me a week (assuming I do dabs on a nail).

Wax is much more efficient than flower, but I get paranoid driving the wax home... felonies are no fun.

  3.
Dang, that sucks. I'm a medical user in California (with a card) and I get the stuff from my local delivery service. I don't envy people who have to get it any other way, heck, I wouldn't even know how to get it if I didn't get it from the dispensary.

How do the effects differ between these different administration methods?

  4. I used to vape wax, roll strings on flower bowls, cheap dabs and titanium dabs. It's just more potent to dab off a titanium nail IMO.

  5. Wax/concentrate camp. Although concentrates are not always my go to because the highs are so intense, that is exactly why they are more economical for me. The concentrate gets me higher with less, therefore it lasts longer for me. The price difference between buying an 1/8th of weed and a gram of wax isn't that different where I live and those both last me about the same amount of time.

  6. My problem, is that I enjoy that act of smoking too much. I can be wasted on a concentrate and still want more. I have disciplined myself to smoke flowers. Although i do enjoy a bit of caviar from time to time.

  7. They can both be economical depending on how its used. Its personal preference really

  8. Depends on what everything runs you.

Ice (Bubble) Hash is not that much more potent than flower IMO. It's less economical.

I don't know what a wax cartridge is as far as how much is in it and how economical it is. If you could tell us your BHO price per gram that'd be handy.

Generally I'd say if a gram of was is $40 or less, wax is gonna be more economical. If it's $50+, very debateable and depends on your flower tolerance.
It also depends on your self-control. When I have BHO a dab or two gets me where I want to be, but they're sooooo tasty I just wanna keep smoking and it disappears way faster than flower for me.

  9. Probably wax, if you are looking for (most of the time) a purely THC (lacking CBD's) stone. Also be aware however that even in CA, and other states where Marijuana is provided, wax and hash and other concentrates are considered a felony. Even if you got it at a dispensary.

  10.
Whoa, I think I'll stick with my flowers then, because that sounds like a bad time. I'll probably feel paranoid smoking on that.
