  1. Are grinders a hassle to carry around because they are so bulky?

How many grinders have you gone through?

Are grinders essential to the everyday stoner?

YOUR ANSWERS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED! THANKS AND TAKE FLIGHT!!!

  2. Nah, I'll grind up 2 grams for work before I leave the house and carry it in a small altoids tin. Any joints I plan on smoking get rolled at home. Grinders are too bulky to carry around, I like portable and disposable because I live in a semi-medical state. $10 gas station glass and a couple dollars worth of weed I have no problem ditching, but my precious stays home.

  3.
    yes
    1
    no

  4. I've gone through 4 grinders, it's not a necessity, I just think it's easy to shred the bud easily even when it's supersticky.
    Buy a 2 piece grinder, it's not that heavy/big

  5. My sister always grinds up her weed, mostly for use in her one hitter, while out and about. She uses a special, lockable container that she keeps with her, so she doesn't have to keep the grinder on her.

I love my grinder for joint rolling, but I don't grind my bong loads like some people do (my sister - for dosing)

I have all my original grinders still. When they get sticky, you just gotta clean them. If you need to "break" it apart, a little heat will expand the metal, making it easier. I use a candle, and just rotate it over the flame for a few minutes, until it's warm around the threading. Saves the weed inside, and the kief from decarbing or vaping off. But I would say a good grinder is an essential stoner tool, yes.

I just threw away a couple cheapie free grinders, the ones for FTP gifts.  Got no use for those.

  6. I have bought 2 grinders. The same one. Space case 2 piece. It fits in your palm easy and I have glasss vials I put my ground up bud in. No need to take grinder anywhere.

  7. Yes grinders are a hassle for me to carry around. If I am going out, I usually take ground bud most likely in rolled joints.

  8. 1.They can become a hassle depending on how often your needing to grab it on the go and how big of a grinder you actually have. For me I don't find this as a big issue, I normally throw a few nugs in my grinder than put in my jacket pocket and leave. Plus I always have some nice kieef on me just in case.

    2. I've gone thru quie a few grinders. Metal/aluminum is going to last more than plastic obvi. But plastic grinders can perform just as well, you'll just not be collecting any kief.

    3. Grinders are absolutley not essential. Even for a daily smoker. Some prefer grinding by hand, it is more natural to break apart a bud with your own hands. I like using a grinder because I feel its faster, easier, and more efficient. Plus I get to collect kieef which is awesome.

  9. I spent most of this summer without my grinder and it wasn't good. I always use my grinder, it just makes packing anything so much easier and it conserves weed. I can just dip my one-hitter in my grinder, or dump it in the bowl of my bubbler, or in my piece.

I don't think it's a pain to carry it around, and it's essential to me and my buddies.

  10. Little bulky to carry in your pocket, throw it in a backpack or purse if you're out and about. I bought one a couple weeks ago just because ripping your bud apart by hand is such a hassle. Some people like it though. It's not necessary, hippies didn't have them in the 60's, but they are so convenient. Buy a four piece grinder and not a cheap one. Won't regret it. Or just use a cup and scissors

grinders are a bit bulky for you pocket but otherwise travel real easy i have had my space case for roughly 5 years now still as good as the day i got it

i don't often use my grinder tho i dunno i don't like grinding up my bud for the bong id rather but a whole nug in or break it up so its not as fine however if your a joint guy they are super needed

  13. I have a high quality four-piece grinder I got for 40 bucks (Chromium Crusher), I've had it for over 3 years and it's the only one I've ever had. If you wana get the most out of your weed it's a necessity; the screen lets you collect kief, and when it gets too gunked up you can iso wash the grinder and have plenty of free hash you never knew was there

They're too bulky to lug around though. I'd simply grind my weed at home and roll my joints there for on the go. I mostly smoke at home anyways, so I use my grinder all the time. It's probable the best piece of weed equipment you can invest in, gives you the best returns for cost, compared to say a fancy pipe or bong.

  14. I never carry it around with me but its not very big.

I used to have a cheap plastic one. The kind u get free with a purchase off of most web sites.

I now have 4 piece that I love and another 4 piece that I have yet to try out.

  15. I bought a metal 15$ grinder. Fucking terrible. I can grind better than most grinders with my fingers

Remember me? The one you stole your idea from.

  16. 1. yep, way too bulky for me.
    2. ive gone through 3 grinders, 2 acrylics and my current cosmic case which has been going strong for 2-4 years (not sure haha)
    3. i dont think they are an essential item, as in ultimately necessary but its very nice to have one.

most grinders aren't meant to be carried around. yes, most are too bulky to be portable (the good ones anyway).
still on my first one, working like a charm and cutting like day one four years ago. (Chromium Crusher / $45)
I would forget about getting any acrylic paraphernalia, it's all junk to me.

most of my time is soaked up by work, so generally I'm at home and enjoying myself when I have off rather than on the go.
when I go for a session, breaking up with my hands feels primitive, having to roll all the all the extra THC off my fingertips
is just annoying and feels wasteful. I'd rather it be cut consistently with a good grinder and have it all be contained rather than all over my hands.

this also means however that my bowls burn more quickly do to more surface area. I'll admit I'm the loner stoner so I don't have to please anyone else and usually just pack snaps to get the job done, but this is also how I prefer it. also worth noting the consistency comes out near perfect for rolling.

  18. Grinders are always worth the hassle. They really add that touch of professionalism to the experience. Also, depending on how you carry your gear around, it's not too much of a hassle. My pipe case has a compartment for a grinder on it, it's not hassle at all. [IMG]

  19.  I usually just grind some up and take it in a different container. I have a 4 piece generic grinder, missing 2 teeth cause some douche bag kids. so now I have to to get another. I love having the grinder. my older sister hates me grinding, and I honestly think that she gave my grinder to the douche bag kids behind my back cause it went missing for a week. as well as my wallet pipe, and my mini roor.

  20. I think grinders are worth extra bulk imo. Who doesn't like to have a blunt rolled in 3 mins instead of 7-10?
    3. I had a red 4part one that my parents threw away.$40
I had a metal 2 part one but parents trashed it. $25
Decided to get a cheap plastic one since it was going to be trashed anyway. Have had it for about 9 months... 😨 $5

I definitely see grinders as a luxury though. Fingers are just as good as long as you make sure you're breaking it up right .
