Trying to set-up a shed with a seperate veg and flower room. We have a wall in between the two rooms, they are sealed from each other, and there is an attic which is sealed off from both rooms. We just got two 600w air cooled 8" grow lights that will be cooled by one 8" inline fan (that ok?) for the flower room and we are getting ready to set that room up. We plan on adding a 4" inline fan to the veg room to scrub it + neg pressure. And another portable a/c in the flower room with either 4"/6" inline fan to scrub + neg pressure. The attic will have a 6"/8" carbon filter scrubbing it. Is it OK to have all exhaust/intake to the attic in the flower room? Mainly I am wanting to know if I have this exhausted correctly.

This look like it will work? Any suggestions are welcomed. Thank you.

  2. Bump. No one?

  3. Can you pull air from below the attic or at least have cool air coming in from a lower elevation than the hot air? The natural properties of the cool air and hot air may help with the longevity of motors and your over climate control.

Do the attic ducts have a way to release out to the roof or just into the addict space? I would re insulate the attic if it goes straight into the addict. Your heat signature from above will be crazy. If you release into the attic space I high recommend at looking at a large attic fan to diffuse that heat.

How is the fan noise? Throw an insulating box around the motor housing or sound deadening material. If you have time to do it before installation. That will ease the ass pain of having to work in the attic later.

This is more what it is going to look like now. Everything ducts straight to the attic, and the actual roof is not insulated. We have a ceiling made of insulating foam board and attic insulation (pink stuff) on top of that. Attic fan sounds like a great idea, thanks for the suggestion. Also, do you think it would be better to just put a 4/6/8" infan + carb scrubber in the attic area to diffuse heat and smell?

Your carbon filters, if you calculate right should be more than enough to take care of the smell. I would not skimp on the filtration. My friend's fan and carbon filter are awesome. It went from you are going to prison smell to did your wife pull them. LOL! Nothing like starting going for night evening and night walks and while you are getting fresh air check to make sure the neighbors are not thinking a family of skunks are living in their floor boards. hahaha

I would recommend placing carbon filtration with each fan diverted to the attic.
