hey, so I found a herm plant in the garden this morning. the sacks werent open..werent showing the flowers yet. think I have to worry about pollen anyways? sorry im just a little nervous about it.
Wait you're a noob? Damn those plants you have going look fantastic, well done. (Seen you post a pic in another thread) I don't think you have anything to worry about if the sacs are still closed. You won't have a seedy crop. You might find a seed here or there if a tiny bit of pollen escaped and landed on your stuff. I wouldn't worry too much. But in all likelyhood there probably will be other branches on the plant that will herm so watch it closely and keep chopping em off.
thanks man..they were numerous and it was a smaller plant. i killed the plant and threw it in the trash can..not worth the risk to me. I been at it legally like this for three years so I consider myself pretty much a noob. still learning all the time and there is so much I dont know.
Ah I see, good call on just chopping it, that's what I woulda done too. A lot of people don't want to waste the bud and try to pick all those balls off. I'd rather destroy a plant and have all my others still top quality, than to have a chance at a full seedy ass crop. I had an entire grow room go hermie with an erratic light schedule caused by a faulty timer. Worst expierence of my growing career, could barely give the shit away.
Ha..that how I got the seeds. friend had the same thing happen. seeds are nice but that can be all a bud consists of if there is enough pollen. i have seen it first hand myself. the other two are showing no signs so my fingers are crossed
