Do You Ever Use The Roots Of The Plant For Medicinal Reasons?

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by PP117, Aug 27, 2014.

  1. Do you do anything useful with the roots? I read in a book that some cultures use the roots for medicinal reasons, but the author didn't give specifics.

  2. I smoke the roots.

  3. I eat the roots

  4. They contain alkaloids which are great for wound healing. They increase blood flow to the skin. Be careful though, it does not help skin cancer, in fact it seems to aid its spreading

  5. Any source to this information, or is this anecdotal? I'm still learning, and am in the process of growing some plants and wanted to harvest everything, roots included.

  6. Check out PsychedelicSams tincture thread. He made his own root balm and found these things out

  7. Will do, thanks

  8. Did you learn anything interesting about the roots?

  9. I learned that some people apply a root salve or liniment to painful areas, and it seems effective at reducing the pain.

Some people make tea out of the roots, and they say it works wonders for pain.

It seems that the roots are claimed to be anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-tumor, and anti-septic.

  10.
I haven't tried this, but that seems like it would make sense... at least for me. Weed tends to relieve my physical pain when I smoke it.
