The Knowledge Of Aura

Discussion in 'Pets' started by cannabisqueen96, Aug 26, 2014.

  1. This is Aureolin. Shes named after a shade of yellow. Aureolin (Aura for short )  is a spinner morph.... that's all she was to me and my group of Aura idolizing friends first met this amazing animal.

She recognizes different people by face and voice. ( and i know that they're completely deaf.) she loves meeting new people and being pet as much as a dog. has been trained to a degree. she doesn't bite, even my friends that don't like snakes feel comfortable when she gets close to there faces She loves music and hates storms and has a pet fish named checkers. her face just looks ridiculously intelligent all the time.
so that's that. Aura is my only pet that i really consider to be "mine" i guess, but most of my friends agree, that there's something about her

Dunno just sounds cool I think lol

  8. good enough for me.

I got a green terror cichlid and ended up just calling green terror.

I bought it to keep my guppies in line so the name fits. It really did terrorize the guppies. Half died and I had to out the rest in another tank =p

If you do take my advice

Save the money to get the biggest tank possible.

Once you realize that most fish like to school, and that most fish should have a bigger tank than suggested (ya know, take good care of your pets), you'll see that even a 40 gallon tank can be considered small.

If wwant a community tank of.like.guppies mollies and tetras, you end.up with a minimum of 15 fish. That's if you are at the minimum of 5 to make a "school" but why would you want to do that?

After that you'll probly want bottom fedders to. Cory cats maybe? How many of those?

If you get a pleco you'll soon learn they get huge way to big for a 40 gallon.

So if you get into the hobby at that point you'll have like 25-30 fish. A 40 gallon would be the bare minimum for such a "beginner" tank IMO.

If you want a bigger fish, like my green terror, its recommended to have a 55-75 gallon tank just for 1-2. Oscars and some others get even bigger.

The other advantage of large tanks is its easier to keep the water parameters stable.

Also if you start with a 25-30 gallon, you'll eventually want/need to upgrade anyway.

The only thing smaller tanks are really useful for is like shrimp or beta tanks.

I wouldn't even keep a beta in anything under than 10 gallons.

IMO start with a 40 gallon breeder. Petsmart and PETCO sometimes have them for 40-50 bucks. You'll need a stand though (or not I kept mine in the backyard for a while long story)

from experience with cichlids ( a green terror is a cichlid ) THEY WILL KILL EVERYTHING  .. just a heads up there super cool but incredibly aggressive there not quite as aggressive as a Dovvi Cichlid ( these guys are crazy ... i want one so bad but i dont have room for a 200 gallon tank ) but it dosent mean that it wont wolf down Cory cats and guppies and mollies and tetras alike ...these are often used for feeders for the monsters such as green terrors and gold saums ... Dont put these fish in a tank with " community fish " unless they are the right community for these kind of fish.
I.E other large south american cichlids ... i was Big into the cichlid hobby for a while but backed out (or clamed down more so ) when the price of everything got way over my head.

  13. I bred ball pythons for a few years and always loved my super spinner blasts and queen bees.. I backed out and sold my collection it got to much to keep up with, only snake I kept was one of the baby boas I had bred as my last project it was an albino male boa to a motley female so I have a motley het albino boa as the only thing I kept.. ball pythons are still one of my faves and will eventually get back to them when the time and money are right. . Shes beautiful by the way.

gotta picture? ive been wanting a bigger snake , but im pretty sure there's a transportation ban now on anything much larger than a ball python ( kinda sucks because im wanting to move out of the glorious state of indiana at some point and there's nothing like illegally transporting a giant snake halfway across the country lol ) i was wanting to get a BEL ( blue eyed lucy ) reticulated python .... but no they had to go place that ban federally

  16. Beautiful snake! It's funny, my good friend is into snakes and other herp, he just acquired some albino boas today. About the size of a small pumpkin.

He's also into fish, or used to before the hobby died.

  17. awww what a pretty baby ,its weird to think of 4.5 feet being small lol, what kind of boa is she ( i haven't gotten the types down yet been to focused on learning the ball morphs ( and my god is it a task ) , Aura actually just went off a food strike a couple days ago hopefully shell keep eating and start putting on weight. i was just perplexed by the idea of having an all white 18 ft snake, fucking majestic lol. and im a huge fan of the Paradoxes... i need one. and the coral glow spiders ( really any of the coral glows ) , super highways are also quite majestic, as are  Asystoles, mystic potions,Killer clowns ,and many many many more lol
