  1. Five days or so ago, my roommate and i took out a few bags of trim from the freezer to dry for butter. We did layers of some trim between drying papers stacked up. The first few days we stirred the layers every so often but still damp. I left for the weekend and during those few days, nothing was stirred. Today we planned to weigh our trim to see how much butter we needed to buy but only the top layer was dry. Everything underneath was damp with a very earthy smell. We didnt see signs of mold, although it smells almost mildewey to me (not to him)

So my question is, should we spend the effort and hours of time to make the butter? He thinks it will be okay since were decarboxylizing it first (spelling?) He wonders if its okay also since were using extracted oil and not the plant matter in the end result.
    Thoughts? Advice? Exerperiences?
