hello, i've recently decided to try to grow my own marijuana. I currently only have 1 plant for test in a 36" x 20" x 63" tent with quite a few fans going. im rocking a ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004YXDHX6/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2WRS4X4C0GMOQ ) for the light system trying to use the HPS bulb all the way through. i was wondering for it being a 5 foot tent, would the light be too bright/ hot for my plant when she gets taller? also any tips on humidity or other usful growing ideas? also having a little cooling problem, tent is at 89 degrees, should i invest in a better fan setup?
I had a 1000 hps in the same tent over an aero table and i had no issues with it burning the plants. I would suggest reading these guys LST sticky, get that thing growing horizontally. Top it and scrog it. That link i posted is for an awesome scrog net. I just built three way larger and it is easy and pretty quick. An air cooled hood and a decent fan and you should be able to get that light within a few inches of the plants. ScrOG or LST will fill and even out your canopy so you can light it all evenly and keep the height down
thanks for the useful tips, will most definitely be getting a occilating fan asap. also maybe a stronger fan for intake do you think? also, what do you think about nutrients? i heard dyno gro foilage and bloom were good ones to use. to scrog i dont have to clip the correct, just bend?
Definitely read some of the pros LST threads. My advice is not from abundant experience it is from what i have read and some personal experience. I run my intake on a thermostat that turns on at 78 degrees, go to home depot and buy some hepa filters for your intake so you do not bring in pests, dust, random bs, i always run a dehumidifier and i run my vent out 24/7. if your in an illegal state get a carbon filter that is matched to your fans cfms for your vent out. I can tell you from personal experience in my past there is nothing more unnerving than knowing you are being watched and having your freedom at stake. Grow legal if you can but i would say no matter what, get rid of the smell! A big suggestion, plan ahead and buy everything online, ship to a po box or someone elses house if in an illegal state, but you will save thousands in a very short period of time if you decide to continue your career as a pot farmer. As to nutrients i have been using the general organics entire nutrient line lately and i really like it, i have plans to start supersoil in the near future as well. The general organics line comes in a go box that would be cool for a single plant grow. Sorry for rambling my wife and kids are out of town and im bored lol. WOULD IT BE EFFECTIVE TO TOP MY PLANT in 1/2 veg month. shes about 8 inches. should i top or fim? i heard to top about 2 weeks into growth, my plant already has about 6 layers of leaves, should i just top as normal at the top part?
