High Cbd / Low Thc Strains: Still Cause The Munchies?

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by PP117, Aug 25, 2014.

  1. I would like to hear from people who have personal experience with the high cbd strains: Do you think they cause the munchies as much as the regular high thc strains?

I understand that some recent studies have shown that the cbd may help to prevent the munchies, but it seems like that data is still new and theoretical, so that's why I'd like to hear from people who have personal experience.

    Thanks

it's always about two things for me; 1: how is my blood sugar before smoking? 2: terpenes

CBD doesn't seem to induce munchies, or prevent them... I feel like, if I was supposed to eat, then I would realize that, or if I didn't need to, I wouldn't. But, if I get something that smells a little more berryish, I'm more likely to think about eating (personally). CBD just really helps me listen to my body all around, and then varying ratios of cannabinoids react with available terpenes and go from there!

It's not just about THC, this is why Marinol won't give patients the munchies, even though it's 100% THC. The terpenoids and terpenes are what alter your blood sugar (or whatever else changes when your brain breaks the off switch to your stomach lol) Many patients will find that they are still affect by even very small ratios of THC (like 0.5% - that's less than 1%!) because the terpene weight is high. Some terpenes make it easier for any amount of THC to move through your brain more easily. But they also have their own effects, even with CBD rich strains.

  3. Makes sense that munchies result from various terpenes or cannabinoids and not only from THC. I've noticed that a sativa, even one high in THC, doesn't cause the munchies like an indica.

  4. Excellent point about the Marinol.

  5. and the reason it is so lacking in what is available in profile of the whole plant form. typical medical stupidness to extract one property from 86 and expect similar results to the whole. they are coming up 85 short from effective results.

  6.
Yeah and demonstrating that they value profit above "effective results."

  7. I don't know I think you guys are over thinking it. The higher cbd strains make you more relaxed and for some reason chillin back munching on funyuns could just seem like the right thing to do at that time.
