So I plan on making smell free canna-oil and then proceeding to bake brownies afterwards. Requesting a double check to make sure I'm not doing anything dangerous or doing anything incorrectly that would sadly lead towards a wasted batch or someone knocking at my door.

    Canna-Oil (Part 1)

    Ingredients/misc
    - Brownie Mix (2/3 cup Oil recipe for ref)
    - Coconut Oil (refined)
    - unbleached coffee filters (using 2-4)
    - skillet / saucepan / deep pan [?]
    - Mason jar (reasonable med-large)
    - 3.5-7grams nug

    1. weigh out bud for proper dosage
aiming to make someone with a solid tolerance (almost daily) have a good time,
was most likely going to use five-seven grams of nug (trim not available)[?]

    2. grind bud until pre-powder
finer than what you would use for rolling jays

    3. measure out 2/3 coconut oil in measuring cup
not quite sure how to measure out the solid-ish coconut oil, best attempt off looks[?]

    4. place [?] on stove to low-medium heat with enough water to be above oil
not quite sure what to use here, mainly the part I need the most help with. I'm aiming again for smell-free, so I wasn't sure what would be the best option for containing almost all the smell via mason jar.
I was told I could use just a sauce pan or skillet filled with enough water to cover the oil (height-wise). Then place the mason jar (that contains measured oil/bud) inside the skillet and turn to low-medium heat. aiming for very few bubbles (both water/oil), simmer for 1-3 hours and remove from heat asap if it begins to burn off.

Q1: can I place the mason jar directly on the skillet / sauce pan that is filled with water?
Q2: can I place the mason jar ring and lid on to seal the smell, and "burping" (opening and shaking once every hour outside)?

    5. take mason jar off heat and let oil cool

    6. place coffee filters over same measuring glass

    7. pour mason jar contents through coffee filter

    8. add oil to compensate for any loss if any

    9. store oil or begin baking after cooled

    Baking Brownies (Part 2)

    Stuff needed
    - baking tray (grey brownie pan)
    - non-stick spray
    - mixing bowl
    - rubber baking spatula
    - 2/3 measured Canna-Oil (room temp)
    - 2 eggs
    - 1/4 cup water
    - Pillsbury chocolate fudge (13x9 family size label)

    1. Add brownie mix to mixing bowl

    2. add 1/4 cup water

    3. add 2/3 cup canna-oil

    4. add 2 eggs

    5. mix for several minutes

    6. scoop out all brownie mix into baking pan

    7. preheat oven to 325 for grey (dark) baking pan

    8. place pan in oven after preheat for 28-31 minutes (brownie instructions)
or until sides have hardened/shrunk slightly and toothpick comes out almost clean

    9. let cool, cut, eat

  2. bumping for help

  3. If you have a crockpot, i'd definitely use that instead of putting the mason jar on the stove. If you use a crockpot, put a washcloth around the inside so that the jar won't break if it hits the sides while it floats in the water.
I wouldn't burp the jar if I was you. One, the smell is extremely strong when you open the jar so that would defeat the purpose of this whole procedure. Two, the glass and metal will be extremely hot and you'll likely burn yourself. Also, because of the pressure build up in side the jar, it could potentially shatter/explode. It's not that common but it does happen, especially if the jar has a crack or nick.
This method is good but it's not a no smell method because when you have to open the jar and strain the oil it really reeks of weed. When you are cooking the actual brownies with the oil you'll be able to smell the weed too.
Cooking with cannabis is fun but it's not something that you can easily do if you're limited on privacy.
