What Daw Or Equip Do You Use?

  1. Just wondering how everyone produces?

I have FL Studio (lol don't hate) but I gotta stop being a lazy cunt and give it a try... as much as I love music, more than anything, I cannot seem to do anything about it.

    and you?!

  2. garageband '11, logic. mostly logic 9, New logic and garageband are crap. Oh, and audacity too, for mastering. Good effects on there.

  3. Logic just for recording.  Everything else as 'out-of-the-box' as possible with outboard analog synths, FX, drum machines, mixer,etc/  Twisting knows and doing it old-school is WAY more fun the clicking a mouse.   :)

Here's are pics of my set-up mentioned above.   I hate computers, hate plug-ins that all sound the same, hate the idea of making music by moving around a mouse.    As such, I'm as out of the box as possible.  Here's some pics of the button-pushing, knob-twisting, uber-fun/great sounding hardware that I'm using in my revolt against computer-dependant recording:

    - Korg Volca Beats, Bass and Keys (range of analog synths/groove boxes/drum machine)
    - Roland TR-8
    - Roland TR-707 (not shown)
    - Moog Slim Phatty
    - Novation Impulse 49 MIDI controller
    - Critter and Guitari Pocket Piano
    - Critter and Guitari Kaleidoloop
    - Korg Kaoss Pad 3
    - Korg Monotron Delay
    - Roland VT-3 Voice Transformer
    - Behringer 1202 mixer
    - Roland Quad Capture audio interface
    - various guitars, tube amps and analog guitar pedals which I use on all my gear.

  5. @[member="Shiva Blaster"] That's hella cool! Wow, expensive set up man, at least for me... I just started finally messin with FL Studio, at least it's user friendly it's actually kinda fun I dunno what took me so long. But if I get serious at all then I'd be more than happy to set up like you!

Took me years of saving, combing through classified ads, and slowly acquiring stuff to finally get to this point.   I bought almost everything used, and got some pretty great deals....probably only paid about 60% of what it would cost to buy everything new.

If you want to experiment with great sounding analog gear, check out out the Korg Volca series.  They are super affordable analog groove boxes that sound great.  Here's a jam I just recorded with them, so much more fun than playing on a computer   :)
